This problem started about 2 months ago. It effects both the keyboard and the mouse. I am using a wireless keyboard.
Logitech MX710 I have used this keyboard successfully for about 3 years. My previous keyboard also Logitech wireless worked for about 5 years before I replaced it. I have reached out to Logitech and they do not have any drivers to use with their unifying receiver. I have checked so many helpful hints online that I have lost track of how many times I have tried each of them again and again.
I have tried the following steps:
reloaded drivers from windows, windows update, and computer based.
Removed keyboard filters
Changed repeat rate from medium to fast
Ran Keyboard troubleshooter
ran DSIM.exe /online /cleanup-image / restorehealth
ran sfc /scannow
restarted computer
Still have a very slow - skipping - laggy keyboard.

As has been said many times in this thread, move the sensor closer, I have a Trust branded KB and mouse and using command strips I had mounted a USB hub to the back of my desk, just looked the command strips had failed ( is it just me or are they useless) and the hub had fallen down the back and was a few CM further away.....ridiculous!
That fixed mine.
To pc without usb 3.0 port.
Why do even keyboard need usb3 keyboard reading and writing speed are so high. It not a **** flash drive. Its a keyboard goddammit. I need better hardware because my keyboad using ram cpu and my phone ram also, like 30% of my memory is unnesassry **** wasting space i can use, and lowering disk cycles constantly writing and reading who know what. Hey Microsoft whre i can send you bill for using my pc without my permission and against what i as owner want?! Hate usin pc, thanks to it. Oh yes new win every two weeks. Windows update, with deleted windows download folder, unplugged net cable and power cable when this **** do update i dont want into my pc. Now next level, my external hdd is turning on and of but noone is using it. So what the heck are you doing with my photos. Im moving to any other os not windows.
I have a wired keyboard and still get lag.
Just move the USB plug to the 3.0 hole and it will be normal..
