Windows 11 keyboard lag. Nothing fixes it

This problem started about 2 months ago. It effects both the keyboard and the mouse. I am using a wireless keyboard.

Logitech MX710 I have used this keyboard successfully for about 3 years. My previous keyboard also Logitech wireless worked for about 5 years before I replaced it. I have reached out to Logitech and they do not have any drivers to use with their unifying receiver. I have checked so many helpful hints online that I have lost track of how many times I have tried each of them again and again.

I have tried the following steps:

reloaded drivers from windows, windows update, and computer based.

Removed keyboard filters

Changed repeat rate from medium to fast

Ran Keyboard troubleshooter

ran DSIM.exe /online /cleanup-image / restorehealth

ran sfc /scannow

restarted computer

Still have a very slow - skipping - laggy keyboard.

This was happening consistently with one user in our office with a wireless keyboard/mouse combo. I could consistently recreate the issue. If the mouse was not moved for 10-15 seconds, there would be a half second delay after moving it. The keyboard was even worse - if no typing for 10-15 seconds, when letters were typed (for instance "this"), it would wait half a second and then capture "t" "h" and then the "i" would keep repeating until another key was pressed.

After trying all the methods in the first answer above without positive results, I finally found a setting called "USB selective suspend setting" under Power & Sleep that fixed the issue once disabled.

Here are the steps on Windows 10:

    • In the start menu, search for "edit power plan"
    • Click "Change advanced power settings"
    • Expand "USB Settings" and "USB selective suspend setting"
    • Change "Setting:" to disabled

The keyboard and mouse immediately started working properly again.

Same here. I had a wireless logitech keyboard which I returned as I thought that was the issue. Replaced it with a wired keyboard and mouse combo and still have the same issue. Updated all drivers and software available... with no change.

My dock worked perfectly fine with old laptop and Windows 10. New laptop ZBook 15 with Windows 11 is a pain in the arrrrrrrrrrrrrrssssssssssssssss

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and suggestions but to be clear. The problem occurred after switching to Windows 11. While I have heard of people having a similar problem with Windows 10. I have placed my Logitech plugin on the back of my computer, No Help,. I have put it on the front of the computer, No Help. I have put it on an extender, No Help. I have put it on a USB hub, No help. The closest cell phone to my computer is two rooms away about 70 feet. My router is located about 6 feet away. I have switched to a cheap Walmart ONN keyboard. I hate it but it works perfectly. This is a problem for Logitech and Microsoft to figure out. The only way we can get Microsoft to take action is to continue to post about the problem. There is no solution yet. The keyboard worked correctly under Windows 10 and stopped with windows 11. I have just purchased a NEW Logitech keyboard to use on a iMac computer in a different room. So I figured lets try it on the old computer. Guess what it DOESA NOT WORK either. The Logitech keyboard works on the iMac but not the Windows 11 PC. Wake up Microsoft. Wake up Logitech

I'm having the same problem - on my laptop keyboard, i.e. not a separate device. Aaargh.
