Dear all,

Please help me with the issue i am facing everyday that my workstation forcefully powers off(no shutdown window or anything just cpu fan turns off suddenly) every night around 11pm before that it works smooth as butter but after that certain time it shuts down and if i try to boot again then also cpu turns off while booting or while workstation login screen.

I also have performed reset of windows by formatting my c drive and again reinstalling the same but that doesn't work either.

    Hi Keshav,

    That first screenshot indicates a power surge occurred, is the electric supply to your house stable?

    Yes it is

    Actually this came just after i removed the internal harddrive of the machine.

    If i am booting with harddrive connected then i am not getting that power surge error.

    Hi Keshav,

    I checked the specs for your motherboard, there is no setting on that which can be causing this problem.

    Hi Keshav,

    This is a complete mystery, it really is...

    Create a new text file on your Desktop and paste this text into that file

    @echo off

    set Folder=c:\Windows\System32\Tasks

    set Log="%UserProfile%\Desktop\Shutdown.txt"

    echo Files containing "shutdown": > %Log%

    dir /b /s /a-d %Folder% > "%temp%\Tasks.txt"

    for /F "delims=" %%a in ('type "%temp%\Tasks.txt"') do (

    type "%%a" | find /i "shutdown" && echo %%a >> %Log%

    )

    Save that file and on the save as dialog, set file type to all files, then save that file as test.bat

    Then right click that file on your Desktop and select 'Run as Administrator'

    When that script completes, there should be another new file on he Desktop named Shutdown.txt

    Open the file, what text is in that file?
