Game crash with "The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found"

Hello!

A few games are crashed after a few minutes of gaming. The mouse got stuck for a few seconds after I'm able to alt+tab but the game process is not responding.

I found the following errors and warnings in the Windows event logs:

Hello,

I think I got it after a couple of years of problems...

EDIT: I SEND IT FOR RMA, it was defective, not sure the below worked, it was just luck

Open the NVDA Control Panel and set the
1. 3D Settings (top left menu)
2. Manage 3D Settings
3. Program Settings (not Global Settings, the other tab)
4. Choose the game / app
5. Set Vertical Sync to = ADAPTIVE (!!! - I think this is the one, it limits the info sent to GPU)
6. Max Frame Rate = 60 FPS (in my case - I had Witcher 1 running like a lot :))
7. Antialiasing - Mode = Application controlled *here you need to try what works, I do 3D rendering
8. Power Management mode = Max Performance (but I have 80% in Afterburner)
It's worth a try :)

I struggled for a week to figure out this issue for my pc. To all reading, this error is a catch all error. It can caused from software to hardware issues. You are probably going to have to read multiple forums to find a solution for your issue. Mine was hardware, specifically bad ram. I replaced it and it solved my issues. My ram might also have been undervolted, but I didn’t think to check until I already replaced it. Good luck!

I know you are trying to be helpful, but what you have said isn’t providing any guidance.

So far I have (not necessarily in this order):

1 Uninstalled drivers with DDU and reinstalled with drivers from laptop manufacturers website.

2 turned off windows hardware acceleration

3 reinstalled a clean install of windows

4 turned on Nvidia debug

5 run scanfc

So far, nothing has resolved it.

Guys.. read the full thread, this is NOT a hardware issue. Some of you have gone and rebuilt your whole computer, and (shocker) the issue is still occurring. It's windows 10/11 and new features that are getting added that aren't compatible with GPU settings. Read through the thread and you will find the answer to fix it.

My first issue with it was on a 1080 and I ended up underclocking my GPU and that fixed the problem (For a while). I ended up getting a new computer but used Windows Back up to restore a system image into the new computer. SAME problem but completely different system setup (Underclocking no longer applied on the new system). I had a 3080 TI so what are the chances?? Had to be some type of driver issue but different cards? Tried DDU multiple times and no luck. Backed everything up, formatted the drive, reinstalled windows. Running with no issues for the last 6 months. Passed the computer to my Nephew and he is still funning good. I honestly think there is some old driver bug hanging around that the DDU can not get rid of.
