My Win 11 PC can only wake up by pressing the power button. How do make it able to wake up using the keyboard or mouse?

I have checked the option that says "Enable wake up using mouse or keyboard" somewhere, but it doesn't make any difference.

My PC is updated to the latest system update.

I believe I found the solution, it is a Windows power-saving policy where USB power is cut off when the computer goes into sleep mode, so the keyboard receiver will not work, and the computer will not wake up as a result. You just need to disable this feature.

Settings > Energy e Battery > Energy Recommendations > Stop usb devices when my screen is off to save battery ----> Turn Off.

    Hello Rob,

    I think we are talking about the same issue (USB and Bluetooth KeyBoard / Mouse ). My understanding the KB+M Bluetooth uses a USB dongle and this discussion uses these terms interchangeably.

    I'm reading all these answers regarding waking via USB.

    However, my issue is that I can't get mine to wake from sleep via Bluetooth devices, both KB+M.

    I've followed all the recommendations for power management etc. but nothing works.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you for this new insight. We’ll try the one blue USB dedicated to the printer on the right side and was never used/tested for this phenomena. We have only 3 blue USBs and assumed we struck out.

    Yes, blue USB ports are USB3 and black are USB2. I also have a logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. The issue may not actually be the type of port. Front USB ports connect to a secondary USB controller on the motherboard via a serial cable. Sometimes, these secondary controllers don't have the same functionality as the ports that are connected to the primary controller (the ports directly connected to the motherboard at the back of your computer).

    I have both USB2 and USB3 ports at the back of my computer (directly connected to the motherboard) and I can confirm that my computer can wake from sleep from either port type.

    It may also be worth noting that some motherboard BIOSs use 'legacy USB support' to enable the wake from sleep feature. Most often, if I understand it correctly, this only enables USB2 and earlier protocols. Really, it shouldn't matter, but it may.
