My Win 11 PC won't wake up from sleep using the keyboard or mouse.

My Win 11 PC can only wake up by pressing the power button. How do make it able to wake up using the keyboard or mouse?

I have checked the option that says "Enable wake up using mouse or keyboard" somewhere, but it doesn't make any difference.

My PC is updated to the latest system update.

I believe I found the solution, it is a Windows power-saving policy where USB power is cut off when the computer goes into sleep mode, so the keyboard receiver will not work, and the computer will not wake up as a result. You just need to disable this feature.

Settings > Energy e Battery > Energy Recommendations > Stop usb devices when my screen is off to save battery ----> Turn Off.

Just to double check, are you having the same issue where my Surface Laptop randomly goes to sleep on its own when I leave it unattended and cannot be awakened except by a 30 second push of the power key. Nothing else will wake it or shut it down. And it gets warm to the touch when it does this. But cools back down as soon as you hold the power key for 30 seconds and it comes back to life. But anything that was going on is gone also, so you have to log back into anything you were working on. Works perfectly outside of this. Maybe of note, I use a MS bluetooth mouse, so nothing usb is being used. and have touchpad turned off.

I have tried the registry settings and other things, but what worked for me in the end is to disable the battery saver setting that turns off all USB devices when the computer sleeps. follow the instructions on this site, but TURN OFF the battery saver setting.

In addition to all the settings in Windows itself, some or all of which could be relevant but didnot work for me, I found there is a setting within UEFI/Bios

that did the trick for me. In my case the settings are labeled "Wakeup event setup" and also "Power management setup"

If you're not familiar with your BIOS I recommend you find someone who is. You can permanently damage your system playing in there.

However, if you're ready to take that chance, during boot there is an opportunity to open the BIOS using set keystrokes, Depending on your computer model there are different methods of accessing the BIOS during the boot process. Search the internet for how to access your particular model.

On one of the pages, there should be some Power settings. Look through those settings for 'hibernate' and turn that off. Change nothing else, save your changes, and reboot your PC.

I'm old too. It worked for me. No promises, but as I said in my first sentence, if you're not familiar with the BIOS, let someone who is familiar do it for you.
