Hello,

made new PC where i get sometimes Blueescreen. First i thought it was the wifi driver, after that i had some days peace. (Yes i use wifi). Under load it did not happen, usally if am browsing or doing nothing.

Changes in Bios: AMD-V,EXPO Profile, Adjusted Fan Curve Silent, Updated to the newest Bios (Since my Fan Cases PMW where always at 1100 RPM).

Inside the Eventviewer i cant get any clue, only before where it says Wifi had connection issues (Critical, so i get a driver from Lenovo, since Gigabyte did not provide the newest.)

Hey guys, i was having the exact same issue since yesterday with my 7900 xtx. After updating BIOS and GPU driver i was booting into a bsod (30 secs freeze and then DPC bsod) and wasnt able to use windows anymore. Atleast i was able to run windows in secure mode. I tried pretty much everything, but nothing worked. Until i came here. I DDUed my drivers and did a fresh install and even then i got BSOD while installing AMD drivers. In the event manager it prompts me the same DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION with amdkmdag as u posted before. After approx 6 hours of 30+ bsods and multiple hypertensive crises i finally got my system to atleast work somehow. I disabled freesync on my monitors. But it cant be the solution to not use FreeSync with a 165Hz Monitor and a 7900xtx. What do we do here? Waiting for something which could probably take months?

Disabling hardware acceleration could help, had no BOD till now (I just disabled it in edge, since i dont have anything other open mostly, except games).

Be aware other programms like steam, discord, edge/browsers could also have hardware acceleration.

What i also came across there is you can disable MPO MPO Fix for 6000 Series AMD GPUs (Fixes stutters & more) : AMDHelp (reddit.com)

Or disable under AMD Software Center (Adrealin Edition) -> Settings --> Graphics --> Wait for vertical sync (last option).

Let me know if these other fixes helped you, so i can try them in future too. What i also saw often before the crash in the event viewer, there was windows entry with update always, but this could be coincidental.

Like i wrote there are other solution, you could try them out (mpo, or verical sync i mean thats not freesync). In my case i disabled the cultpit edge browser and his hardware accelerartion. Maybe it's in your case that 165 hz is unusal fit, since mine is 144hz. You could also try to downlcock your card (without changing voltage) to see if your card is maybe defective.

I would recommend you disable evrything what have to do with power-saving/sleep in the windows settings, since amd has its problem with it atleast when i tried host virtual machines.

This issue has been fix by AMD driver 23.3.1

    Fix by driver 23.3.1.

Intermittent driver timeout, system freeze or BSOD may be observed using select displays on Radeon™ RX 7000 series GPUs.
