How do I stop renamed files from moving to upper left corner

A few months ago I switched to a new laptop, then immediately downloaded windows upgrade on it, so I don't know which factor causes this. But ever since, every time I rename a file on the desktop, windows immediately moves the file to the upper left corner of the screen, or the nearest open space to this point. This is confusing when I'm trying to keep track of and arrange my desktop files in some other way, and I have to keep moving the file back to where I want it.

    Unfortunately these were all turned off for me so no effect.

    This solution makes no logical sense to me, but it fixed the problem!!!

    1. Right click on your desktop
    2. Choose "Personalize"
    3. On the right hand side list, choose "Start"
    4. Toggle off "Show recommended files in Start, recent files in File Explorer, and items in Jump Lists"

    I hope this helps someone else out there!

    Try hitting F5 to refresh the desktop immediately after this happens and see if the icon goes back where you put it. That works for me but it's a pain having to do so.

    There is no Personalization setting in my Settings, except for changing background color or theme.

    Anyway, my problem is a little different: The Photos icon always moves to the upper left corner, no matter where I put it. Then if I put a new item on desktop, it sometimes displaces the Photos in the upper left corner and Photos moves down a line or two or three.

    I found a workaround for this issue. It is to turn off the following personal setting functions of Windows 11.

    [Show recently opened items in Start, Jump List and File Explorer]

    However, those who relied on this feature will have to decide which one to choose.

    --How to set--

    1. Select Personalization from Windows11 Settings menu
    2. Select [Start]
    3. Turn off [Show recently opened items in Start, Jump List and File Explorer]

    **** the recently opened, who even uses that? especially on Windows 11 ( maybe in the start bar ) but it's useless
    this fixed my problem / "bug"
