Why does my snipping tool no longer bring up the pop up image to edit?

My Snip tool used to bring the image I captured in a pop up automatically, that I could edit when using the windows key & Ctrl S. It no longer does this? Is there a setting I need to change? I have to actually open the Snip Tool Menu to get this to work now. Not sure if some update was done by my IT people that changed this.

nothing works on getting it to be the forward window. i hate it because i loved that tool and now it's more trouble than its worth. I recently switched to Windows 11 and have found out this is all we have to work with. People should enjoy Windows 10 while they can!

i ended up downloading a different snipping tool and just use that now.

This Snipping Tool problem and a few others means I still use my 7 year old Windowa 10 PC in preference to my 7 month old new PC with Windows 11.

Why MS can't get this working properly in Windows 11 when it still works perfectly in Windows 10. Is this a reflection of how little MS think of their users.

Use the Feedback Hub to report this and any other Microsoft problems and the engineers may eventually get around to resolving them.

I turned off the "Automatically Save Screenshots" option in the snipping tool settings and then the pop up of the snip I just made started showing up. I turned the auto save back on and the pop ups went away. I am thinking that since it is already "saving" the snips somewhere it decides to not let it pop up.

I don't have that turned on and the window still stays behind the others.

I gave up in the end and used ShareX.

    https://getsharex.com/

It can be set up to work extremely similarly to the snipping tool, but has a vast array of other features which you may or may not find useful.

It can record screen clips. You can automate actions after taking a snip. You can upload what you have snipped for sharing... all sorts of stuff.

All free and open source. It is head and shoulders above the built in snipping tool.

Strongly suggest you take a look.
