Why does my snipping tool no longer bring up the pop up image to edit?

My Snip tool used to bring the image I captured in a pop up automatically, that I could edit when using the windows key & Ctrl S. It no longer does this? Is there a setting I need to change? I have to actually open the Snip Tool Menu to get this to work now. Not sure if some update was done by my IT people that changed this.

    This is what worked for me:

    1. Open Snipping Tool normally via the start menu to get the UI up
    2. Click the three dots in the top left and click Settings
    3. Disable "Automatically save screenshots"

    Caveat that this is in/after updating to Windows 11 for me so I don't know if this is option is in Windows 10, but I didn't even know it was a thing until I ran out of ideas and went digging. After disabling the auto save the popup started appearing for me again (I also went to check my pictures folder and sure enough there were the countless tests screen grabs I'd made!).

    Apologies for no screenshots (ironic), the form keeps saying its failed if I try to upload an image.

    This response does not address the issue. It should be downvoted. This is a classic response by someone who just wants to get their name out there. We are talking about the POPUP not the notification.

    For some reason the clicking on the notification fails to execute the editing tool for the snip... This is the pop up that allows the user to interact with the snip. Is it a loss of the editor? I noticed in the Clipboard Cupboard (windows Key + V) the clicking the saved image won't also pop up an editor for the snip.

    Something got detached and I can't figure what or why.

    I have done a couple work arounds since people who develop the software refuse to fix the bugs:

    1. Have an editor open like Paint.net... You can paste into the editor and use it somewhat like the snipping tool is supposed to work.
    2. You can set the .png files to default open with the snipping tool. This is allows you to ope the folder where the snips are automatically saved (if you have that setting toggled) then double click the image to bring up the image in the snip editor.

    I found a way to make it work by pinning the app to the taskbar and right-clicking it to take a new screenshot. The app still doesn't go full screen but at least stays in the foreground and a new screenshot can be initiated. Worth mentioning that 'Multiple windows" is enabled in settings.

    Step 2 fails. There is no longer an option for what to select, the whole screen gets selected.
