Why does my snipping tool no longer bring up the pop up image to edit?

My Snip tool used to bring the image I captured in a pop up automatically, that I could edit when using the windows key & Ctrl S. It no longer does this? Is there a setting I need to change? I have to actually open the Snip Tool Menu to get this to work now. Not sure if some update was done by my IT people that changed this.

This solution worked once for me. Then every time after that I try to use the tool, doesn't work, and have to go click on the tool pinned in task bar to find my snip. Super frustrating. I also tried to "repair" it. Still didn't work. This tool worked so well in Windows 10.

This worked perfectly and should be the accepted solution.

Dear Microsoft, please restore the snipping tool to its original functionality, where upon snipping, the captured screen (or screen portion) present on top of my other windows, rather than going to the background like it now does. Very inconvenient! Thanks.

I found this option with no problem. However, it also says "If this app isn't working right, reset it. The app's data will be deleted." "This will permanently delete app's data on this device including preferences and sign-in details."

I'm a little concerned about that. I just had to revamp my email, etc. with MS 365 and everything I do daily, has changed.

Guess I'll keep looking until I find a solution.

    Thanks!
