Why does my snipping tool no longer bring up the pop up image to edit?

My Snip tool used to bring the image I captured in a pop up automatically, that I could edit when using the windows key & Ctrl S. It no longer does this? Is there a setting I need to change? I have to actually open the Snip Tool Menu to get this to work now. Not sure if some update was done by my IT people that changed this.

    Thanks Jasell for your response! Yes, the ctrl V works... However I have still not been able to figure out how to open it in a new Snipping tool window... If I delay in copying the image immediately.... (which happens in trainings)...the image disappears in the notification bar and then I have to use the mouse... I usually choose to use the keyboard as much as possible... I too have 3 screens.. I use the keyboard to navigate between all three! So when I working on content development (mostly theory) - I use the mouse very rarely!

    I can always use the mouse.. but I would prefer my old setting where after snipping, the new window opens up automatically.

    Hi there, I think I solved it:

    Go to Accessibility - Scroll down to Interaction - choose Keyboard - Scroll down to On-Screen Keyboard, access keys & Print Screen.

    The last option in that section is Use the Print Screen button to open screen snipping - change this option to ON.

    This should solve the problem =)

    (I tried to attach a screenshot of the setting - but the upload kept failing, sorry)

    It copies to the clipboard by default. So if you only want to paste (i.e. no edit) you only need to do ctrl+v

    But I assume you already have your hand on the mouse has you have to click and drag to make the snip, so you can then quickly click the notification as it opens, to get to the snipping tool so you can edit, and you need the mouse for that.

    What is annoyingly though is if you have many screens, I have 3, then you sometimes need to travel across screens to reach the notification.

    Hi Chandy,

    My issue is similar. In the earlier version, the snipping tool would open automatically in a new window. The new window would make it easier to copy and immediately paste it in my work. With the updated version (Win11), the snipping tool now opens up on a banner (notification Centre) and for me to access it, i need to use my mouse and click on it to open in new window. I use the keyboard a lot while working and using the mouse for navigation becomes a bit annoying. Any suggestions on how I can make the snipping window open in a new window than it being a pop up in the notification banner?
