Why does my snipping tool no longer bring up the pop up image to edit?

My Snip tool used to bring the image I captured in a pop up automatically, that I could edit when using the windows key & Ctrl S. It no longer does this? Is there a setting I need to change? I have to actually open the Snip Tool Menu to get this to work now. Not sure if some update was done by my IT people that changed this.

    I had the same problem, utterly frustrating, and I found the answer myself...

    Do this:

    * START

    * SETTINGS

    * APPS

    * INSTALLED APPS

    * Click on the ... by Snipping Tool

    * Click on Advanced Options

    * Under BACKGROUND APPS PERMISSIONS

    * Click Never

    Job done :)

    Microsoft says to report it in the Microsoft Hub from where their developers decide which problems or suggestions they should address. You can also vote on other suggestions/problems to give others a better chance of having their problems sorted. Others can vote on your suggestion.

    I'm sorry to report that the Default only worked for that session, when I logged off and returned the next day the Snip no longer popped up. I may try one of the other Snipping apps. I have reported this problem in the Microsoft Hub and also the fact that I can't lock the Taskbar.

    Agree, I don't want the added step of reopening my snipping tool to copy what I captured. It's added time and clicks. Not a good change.

    What is the fix? Resetting the app didn't work for me.

    I want to have access to Snip & Sketch as that works perfectly for me on Windows 10,
