Why does my snipping tool no longer bring up the pop up image to edit?

My Snip tool used to bring the image I captured in a pop up automatically, that I could edit when using the windows key & Ctrl S. It no longer does this? Is there a setting I need to change? I have to actually open the Snip Tool Menu to get this to work now. Not sure if some update was done by my IT people that changed this.

That's indeed the only thing that worked... So the default behavior of the snipping tool was completely changed by introducing a feature no one asked for and enabling this whithout any information! Slow clap!

I suggest following hotfix: Disable the feature by default.

Greetings to the developer! Good job! ;-)

Does anyone have a fix for this yet, I have tried what this thread has already but nothing seems to work yet.

The Snipping tool has been broken ever since the introduction of screen recording.

It is a known issue and there's no fix for it, only MS can fix it by releasing a new app without the bug.

Screen recording in Snipping Tool begins rolling out to Windows Insiders

"There is also a known issue where the Snipping Tool app window does not restore when initiating a new snip from within the app."

Windows 11 - snipping tool not showing up after snipping - only on taskbar

This is really annoying (well not as annoying as living in a war zone), but I used to take a snip of the screen and the snipping tool would stay on top so I could cut and paste or edit the snip. Now the tool goes behind the other apps and I have to click on it in the task bar to get it back on the screen. None of the suggested fixes have changed anything. Come on Microsoft!

Also, when are you going to add autoscroll to Word and sort out the styles and number issues ;)
