Windows clean install-sufficient hard disk storage space. Error 0x800700EE

Hi guys.

For over a week I tried to find the cause of this error message, without success. I want a clean reinstall of Windows 10 ver. 22H2 ver. 19045.2486, but will keep existing apps and settings. I use Multimdeia Creator for win 10, from a USB flash storage.

I know that a fresh install of Windows 10 will require 32GB of free storage space. My C: HDD had 77GB of free space. After deleting temporary files, trash, moving files from Dokumet and image folders, I now have more than 400GB available. I have also tried sfc /scannow oh chkdsk /c /f, the aforementioned with boot scan because the C disk must not be locked as it often is under Windows.

Does anyone know why this error might occur?

Very grateful for contributions here.

    Hei igjen, til dere alle som svarer og følger dette trådelementet.

    Jeg følger med i alle deres tilbake meldinger. Jeg må igjen beklage min "litt mindre ivrighet" nå i det siste. Gjennom livet hender det at man opplever midlertidig stopp, slik som da min ektefelle onsdag forrige uke måtte sykehus innleggelse. Nå er jeg mer på hugget med å kunne besvare dere alle.

    Når det gjelder min Bitdefender ticket har ikke denne ført til andre endringer/hendelser enn at det ER MicroSoft defender som nå er installert i mitt OS. For Defender ER sanntidsbeskyttelse PÅ, Sånn sett, ALLE brytere for Innstillinger for Virus og trusselbeskyttelse, alle er SATT PÅ.

    Angående DISKPART og gjennom kontroll med bare disk 0 og 1, dette er de 2 innebygde mX2 SSD diskene, ville dette bli komplisert i mitt system med å kople bort/ut alle diskene for drift, slik at en List Vol kun ville vise disk 0&1. Hadde det ikke vært for en tilværelse i en elektrisk rullestol, kunne livet med å få dette til ha vært langt enklere. Akkurat der ville jeg dessverre måtte ha måtte spurt etter menneskelig hjelp.

    AOMEI Disk partisjon, jeg har spurt teknisk personell om hvordan benytte meg at dette Software for å kunne skape EMS(?) Jeg la med en DISKPART Disk og Vol oversikt. I deres tilsvar har support ikke leste diskpart logg inn limte tekst tilstrekkelig, der de ber meg endre disken til GPT (List disk viser at samtlige HDD har det artesiske stjerne tegnet, nettopp fordi diskene ER GPT.

    Jeg har bedt support om en videre oppfølging, der jeg opplyser at alle HDD er GPT disker. Frem til så langt, er vi kommet hit til dette steget, og jeg følger med og svarer deres feedback etter mottatte.

    Yeah, the disks are already GPT. If you get a chance to rebuild the BCD (pls ref to my earlier post), post back how it goes.

    Sorry to hear of the medical problems that you & spouse experience. I hope for the best possible outcomes.

    (1) OK. If Windows Defender says it is in charge, that will likely be good enough to believe BitDefender is not the cause of BCDEdit's inability to read the BCD when "/Store" is not used.

    (2) If you've only got two internal SSDs, let them alone. That will be OK.

    (3)

    (a) Your last List Disk showed 17 drives plugged in. The first 11 had the asterisk & were GPT, that includes the most important ones, Disk 0 & Disk 1, which are internal.

    (b) Are you & spouse unable to unplug all the external USB hard drives & flash drives? Doing so will prevent BIOS looking to them for a boot device. I didn't see an EFI on them, but MSInfo32 continues to have a HarddiskVolume number too high for it to be on Disk 0 (which is where it belongs). You should definitely have them unplugged when creating & populating a new EFI.

    (4) I'd still like you to put a letter back onto the EFI of Disk 0, then try "/Store"...

    List Vol <<<List volumes & letters

    Select Disk 0 <<<Focus on Disk 0

    Select Part 2 <<<Select partition 2 -- looks like EFI

    Assign Letter=S <<<Give it letter S

    List Vol <<<Should see the new letter now

    BCDEdit /Store S:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD /Enum All

    Show us that output. Your last List Vol looked like...

    Volume 3 is FAT32, 100 MB & System. That is EFI. It would be nice to see that -- by putting letter S where we did (Disk 0, Part 2) -- it also shows up on Volume 3. But, then, MSInfo32 should be showing HarddiskVolume2. That's still a puzzle!

    (4) It might be best to continue with Ramesh to make a Macrium system image. Then, try the article he suggested to fix your EFI. I think that should work. Afterward, we can make a final decision as to whether you should have an MSR & whether EFI should be the first partition on Disk 0. I can talk you through AOMEI, if you decide to do it.
