Windows clean install-sufficient hard disk storage space. Error 0x800700EE

Hi guys.

For over a week I tried to find the cause of this error message, without success. I want a clean reinstall of Windows 10 ver. 22H2 ver. 19045.2486, but will keep existing apps and settings. I use Multimdeia Creator for win 10, from a USB flash storage.

I know that a fresh install of Windows 10 will require 32GB of free storage space. My C: HDD had 77GB of free space. After deleting temporary files, trash, moving files from Dokumet and image folders, I now have more than 400GB available. I have also tried sfc /scannow oh chkdsk /c /f, the aforementioned with boot scan because the C disk must not be locked as it often is under Windows.

Does anyone know why this error might occur?

    Volume 3 might contain your boot files and BCD. Let's check that.

    Perhaps the existing disk layout prevents the command bcdedit from finding where the BCD is located. I think PCR said this in an earlier thread, will check it out again.

    In WinRE, type:

    • diskpart
    • sel vol 3
    • assign letter=y
    • det par
    • exit
    • dir y: /s /a | more

    Also, download Macrium Reflect Free edition and run it.

    Select the 2nd option, "Create an image of the partitions(s) required....."

    Pls post a screenshot of the resulting dialog.

    (1) Comparing this List Vol to your prior one, it looks like you deleted the extraneous EFI that was on Disk 1. That is good. You are left with this one on Disk 0...

    I see no evidence of another EFI in your lists. What does MSInfo32 now say is your Boot Device? Earlier, it said: "Oppstartsenhet \Device\HarddiskVolume8". That didn't make sense because it refers to neither the one on Disk 0 nor to the deleted one (which was ...4). It should say ...2, if it refers to the one on Disk 0.

    (2) What is your progress with removing BitDefender & activating real-time scanning with Windows Defender? I'd like that to be settled before doing partition work. But -- if you make a system image backup with Macrium Reflect under Ramesh's guidance -- we can go ahead with the partition work no matter. That would be for you to end up with: EFI, MSR, Windows, & Recovery partitions in that order all on Disk 0.

    Det er oppdaget en hypervisor. Funksjoner som kreves for Hyper-V, vises ikke.

    Bitdefender fjerning. Først av alt, mitt 3.parts program REVO uninstaller som har full oversikt over installerte software programmer, finner INGEN. Deretter gikk jeg til MS Programmer og installerte, ingenting å se der heller. Jeg gikk til Bitdefender hjemmesiden og lastet ned Bitdefender avinstallerings verktøyet for Bitdefender Total Security og Bitdefender fjernet, etter restarting av PC.

    Jeg bruker MS Backup og restore, Image oppretter og har funnet ut etter å ha utprøvd en rekke 3. parts programvare at MS sin egen software var den mest fungerende. Etter hver uke Søndager blir denne Image av OS plassert på en .MX2 SSD og en SATA SSD disk. Sist OS image backup var skapt den 2023.05.02. MEN MS Backup og restore har også muligheter til å lage komplett backup av all innholdet i min C: boot disk sammen med et bilde av OS. DER har jeg ikke lykkes, men et rent OS bilde gjennomføres suksessfullt. BSOD skjerm med feilmeldingen error: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. For ikke å blande for mange innspill lar jeg denne feilmeldingen avventes til ett nytt eget innspill i en ny tråd, i ettertid. Kan hende at denne BSOD var nyttig? men vil helst ikke blande inn for mye av nye innspill.
