Windows clean install-sufficient hard disk storage space. Error 0x800700EE

Hi guys.

For over a week I tried to find the cause of this error message, without success. I want a clean reinstall of Windows 10 ver. 22H2 ver. 19045.2486, but will keep existing apps and settings. I use Multimdeia Creator for win 10, from a USB flash storage.

I know that a fresh install of Windows 10 will require 32GB of free storage space. My C: HDD had 77GB of free space. After deleting temporary files, trash, moving files from Dokumet and image folders, I now have more than 400GB available. I have also tried sfc /scannow oh chkdsk /c /f, the aforementioned with boot scan because the C disk must not be locked as it often is under Windows.

Does anyone know why this error might occur?

Very grateful for contributions here.

    • list disk
    • list vol
    • exit
    • bcdedit

    (1) Yuk -- I don't like the looks of your DIR commands that Ramesh requested. Let's see what he has to say.

    (2)

    (a) What does it say in Windows Security settings as to whether Defender is running in real-time?

    (b) You did everything that site said? It had a link for the uninstall tool...

    "Uninstall Bitdefender on Windows 10

    1. Click Start, then look for the Bitdefender Security entry in the list.
    2. Click to expand the Bitdefender Security folder
    3. Right-click on the Bitdefenderapp, then select Uninstall. The Uninstall or change a program section from Control Panel will pop up.

    4.  Select the name of your Bitdefender security product (Bitdefender Total Security, Bitdefender Internet Security, or Bitdefender Antivirus Plus), then click the Uninstall button at the top of the list.

    1. If the User Account Control shows up, confirm the uninstallation by choosing Yes.
    2. In the selection window choose Remove, to permanently uninstall Bitdefender from your computer.
    3. Wait for the uninstall process to complete, then reboot your system.

    ⓘ  Note: If Bitdefender fails to uninstall and cannot be removed, download and run the uninstall tool corresponding to your Bitdefender version from this location."

    If that didn't work, good thinking to open a ticket with them. I think we should get that settled before messing with partitions. It may be BitDefender that causes BCDEdit not to work.

    (3) But what are the results of those DiskPart commands? In the end, we should delete all your EFI & create a new one as the 1st partition on Disk 0, followed by MSR, Windows & Recovery like mine...

    The extraneous EFI you've got may be confusing Windows during the reboot(s) needed to complete a repair-install.

    Beklageligvis, hverken program management eller mitt 3 parts program, Revo Total uninstaller viser at Bitdefender er installert, men det kjører. Med mitt software "Everything" finner jeg lett frem til samtlige av Bitdefender sine mappe plasseringer. Med Revo valget tvunget avinstallering av alle Bitdefender mapper som jeg finner under C disken blir både Register nøkler og filere fjernet. Enkelte filer er låste, men ville bli slettet med ny oppstart. PC ble ny oppstartet, Bitdefender overvåker fortsatt!

    Jeg undres over at Bitdefender i det hele tatt eksistere, etter at flere nøkler er fjernet fra registerfilen, i tillegg store program mapper. Jeg retter en tickets til Bitdefender support. Jeg mener at det finnes en EXE avinstallerings fil program.
