Local Security Authority Protection

I have the security Action badge indicating to me that Windows security Action is required.

I open up by clicking the badge and see the notice that the Local Security Authority Protection is required to be turned on and restart the computer to which I perform those two actions.

After my computer is reloaded the Security Badge still requires me to turn Local Security Authority Protection on, as I have already done.

    Why would you think that? Some facts might work for me as to why you feel a scammer may have entered into my computer.

    If that were the case then that does not say very much for Microsoft's security system.

    My phone screens calls like that out typically and if I see an unfamiliar number and do answer I don't say anything at all. If it's a machine it usually will just drop the line after a while.

    That type of call you describe however sounds like a phishing attempt and is a scam.

    I doubt it has anything to do with this issue and is most likely just a coincidence that it happened around the same time. As always, caution is warranted.

    I have a question and you can answer if you want to.

    Have you ever received a phone call with a message going something like this? "We see that a feature in your securities area has been turned off to fix the issue please press 1?" I used #1 as an example.

    When you click that badge on your desktop and you are taken to the area of security at a glance and you click Device Security you should see the Core Isolation area and the message stating that the feature is off when actually you see that it is on.

    Here is my take on this a Scammer organization has taken advantage of a weakness in an update and are controlling that area to give the message that is seen.

    Out of the blue one night, I got a phone call with a message informing that "We noticed that one of your security features has been turned off, to correct this issue press # 1"

    I am not sure exactly what the number to press was, however, my question is how did they know if I had or did not have a security feature turned off or on.
