I have a driver that is prohibiting me from turning on memory integrity. The driver is wdcsam64.sys. How do I turn it off or delete so I can turn on memory integrity?

Download the latest Western Digital Discovery Services version from the official web (which contains updated drivers):

    https://support-en.wd.com/app/answers/detailweb/a_id/20465

Once you install this, it will update the driver to a Win 10/11 compatible driver, and the problems are gone.

(If you have this error message then its because you have a win 7/8 driver as a default installation).

You can of course also just search the Western Digital Forums and they come up with the same solution, but I thought I would post it here also, as this was the first place I searched (and found in google.).

I am not sure if I need WDCSAM64.sys or not but it was failing to load. I had some difficulty with using my Passport on a USB port. The cure on my WIN11 machine was to check for updates which was up to date, but I was directed to Advanced options and look for WD drivers under optional updates. There was one so I loaded it. Problem solved.

I went through a lot of suggestions for others to try and none were helpful imho. Sorry if this is a repeat but too many threads to go though.

    Bob

I downloaded WD Discovery for Windows and was able to turn memory integrity back on and my drive doesn't seem to have any issues now (using Windows 11).

I TRIED DELETING MANUALLY by searching in search bar in explorer and deleting, after acquiring admin rights on my own laptop for a zillion times and even more restarts of the system. it is deleted in a way that it does not appear in search yety windows integrity still doestn turns on stating the same issue... I look up the incompatible drivers it is referring but nothing appears on that page... like no drivers to show as i deleted them maybe... but what to do now?

Windows prevented me from deleting wdcsam64.sys! Unfortunately the print accompanying the denial was too small for my old eyes to read, even with a magnifier. It has taken days to figure out which of the five methods for enlarging font worked best for me . I'm afraid to mess with it up by fiddling with it again. Would someone please reply with the solution to this. Font in this forum is readable. I am the sole owner/user of this laptop. Many thanks.
