"Choose where to get apps from" feature missing in Windows 11 Advanced App Settings

I am looking for my "Choose where to get apps from" button and can't find it anywhere. When I go to "apps" It show advanced app settings and under the heading shows "Choose where to get apps from", but when I click on Advanced App Settings, there's no "Choose where to apps from option!" Can anyone help me get this option back?!

Hi Autumn Lehman,

Yes, the process is the exact same for Windows 10 and 11

In Windows 11, open the Settings app, go to System - Activation and click 'Go to the Store' to switch to Windows 11 Home for free.

    This was very helpful, thank you. I wasn't able to do what I wanted, but at least now I know why. My laptop has the S mode security settings, that causes Microsoft to prevent unverified apps & software from being able to download & open. Your process took me to the steps that let me know how to change my settings to be able to do my downloads, but that I would have to remove my S mode security settings, & it would be a permanent change. Do you by chance know how to do this without removing the S mode?
