The same problem as here:

and here https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/issues/12513

Description: when my device goes to sleep it closes my apps which were installed with Microsoft Store.

Device: Microsoft Laptop Studio

System: Windows 11, all updates installed, drivers up to date.

Tried: all solutions from topics above.

  1. Reset Microsoft Store.
  2. Re-register all its apps and store itself with a powershell (successfully).

Result: none.

Additional info: I'm using 4-6 desktops and constantly switching between. If I have some of MS apps on some screen it can be closed (without any crash message) just on desktop switching (but not always). If laptop goes to sleep - all MS apps are closed every time.

PS: asked my co-workers with win11 - the problem persists almost on every machine with win11. Weird that Microsoft doesn't fix it. It's very annoying.

I've bought my laptop only 2 months ago. And it doesn't sound normal to make a clean install now. I used Macs for last 6 years and never re-installed OS. That's absurd.

Just check the links in my very first post and google my problem - there are dozens of cases. It's not a "display issue" if only Microsoft Store Apps are affected. And it's not a "sleep" issue cause I can get same result by switching desktops couple of times.

I just beginning to hate MStore and this laptop each time it causes my work to be lost. Something intentionally closes MS apps. Without crash messages and reports.

Then that is a sleep or display issue, not the Store. You've already tried everything for the store.

When was your last Clean Install, as this may be your best option to get a fresh start. Look over this best tutorial: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-do-clean-ins...

Create the bootable media following the steps under Create Installation Media, clicking to read the link "Before you Start" at https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software-downlo...

Make sure during the booted install to unplug all other drives, boot the media as a UEFI Device, choose Custom Install, delete all partitions down to Unallocated Space to get it cleanest, choose the Unallocated Space, click Next to auto-create and -format the needed partitions and begin install - this makes it foolproof.

After install expedite all Windows Updates including Optional until no more are offered. Then import any drivers from the PC maker's Support Downloads web page for your model that are newer, or branded instead of generic. The most basic thing we need to learn to maintain a PC is how to keep the latest manufacturer's drivers current. Windows drivers are rarely enough.

Make it a diagnostic install by monitoring for the issue after you reinstall each app, Update, settings or any modifications. Have System Restore points set so you can roll back before the change that causes this, if you isolate it.

Until then you can Go over Windows 11 with this Performance Checklist to try to find and fix problems:

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the detailed results you post back, I will have other suggestions if necessary.

    So, step by step:

    • display drivers (updated before, updated again) - done
    • power-sleep options - checked
    • Run Power Troubleshooter - done many times
    • Run SFC and DISM - done many times
    • Disable Hybrid Sleep - don't have this option at all. Only "sleep" is available

I'm not sure at all that the problem deals with "sleep". The problem definitely deals with Microsoft Store. Please pay attention to this part of the problem:

Additional info: I'm using 4-6 desktops and constantly switching between.
If I have some of MS apps on some screen it can be closed (without any crash message) just on desktop switching (but not always).
If laptop goes to sleep - all MS apps are closed every time.

Hi Elijah. I'm Greg, here to help you with this.

Try these fixes for WIndows closing apps during sleep, fixes same for Windows 10 and 11:

    https://softwaretested.com/windows/how-to-stop-...

https://www.thewindowsclub.com/windows-10-close... (Avoid ad links which intrude into editorial copy, especially avoid Restoro, PC Repair Tool and Reimage ads)

    https://tipsmake.com/fix-windows-10-computer-au...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TH9TEaH6jiA

Here is everything that works best for fixing sleep in Windows 11:

    1. Troubleshoot the display driver which controls everything about sleep:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

    1. Troubleshoot Sleep to find and fix problems:

    https://allthings.how/how-to-fix-sleep-timer-no...

    https://www.reddit.com/r/WindowsHelp/comments/q...

    https://10scopes.com/fix-pc-wont-go-to-sleep-wi...

    https://wethegeek.com/windows-pc-wont-go-to-sle...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rty9gSvXcM

What I do is set Power Plan timeouts to 1 minute for Display and Sleep, then 2 minutes for Hibernate. After each step in the tutorials above, restart PC and sit back to observe if the timeouts work. If so set them back to Plan defaults:

Feel free to ask back any questions. If you'll report back results for each step, including in each link, it can help determine what else we need to try. I will stick with you until it is fixed.
