I've been using the "Phone Link" app on my computer and mobile and this has let me mirror my phone on my computer and enabled me to unlock the phone screen from my PC. However I'm no longer able to unlock from the PC and it is showing the following message: "Unlock on your phone. To keep your credential private and secure, we need you to unlock your phone to continue." Can anyone tell me how to resolve this issue?

I am having the same issue. Not sure if this is a result of any updates to Android and/or Windows. I noticed it a few weeks ago but didn't investigate until now. For me, it is occurring on all Windows machines that I use Phone Link on, both Windows 10 and Windows 11.

I see - I appreciate your details. I believe it is a bug with the new update.

    Hi Sumit,

I've just followed your instructions and toggled off the hide my Android device screen and this also had no effect.

I've also just uninstalled the Phone Link app from my phone and PC and reinstalled both.

After reinstalling, when I first open the "Open phone screen" option on my PC, my phone has a pop up that I need to click start playing. Once I do this it works fine and this is how it used to work.

Then when I close the phone screen on my PC and go to open it again, I get the below screen each time.

This is all becoming quite annoying as I used the phone screen on my PC all the time.

    Thanks again

    Jason

    Hi Jason,

Let us see what we can do. It is possible that it might be a bug as well, though.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/topic/setti...

    On your PC:

In the Phone Link app, open Settings.

In the Phone screen section, find the option to Hide my Android device’s screen while it’s connected to my PC. Turn this toggle off. You can change this setting at anytime if you’d like the black screen to show again.

    Keep us posted.

    Hi Sumit,

I have all permissions added on my phone and it's still not working.

Oddly though, on my PC, if I "reset" the phone link app, the screen sharing starts working on my phone, without have to press start on the phone. This only lasts one time and then the original message comes up again wanting the phone to be unlocked.

I used to have to press start on my phone when I initially wanted to start screen sharing and this would this stay started until i turn my phone off.

Any further ideas would be appreciated! :)

    Thanks

    Jason
