New issue with unlocking my Samsung phone via phone link app on PC

I've been using the "Phone Link" app on my computer and mobile and this has let me mirror my phone on my computer and enabled me to unlock the phone screen from my PC. However I'm no longer able to unlock from the PC and it is showing the following message: "Unlock on your phone. To keep your credential private and secure, we need you to unlock your phone to continue." Can anyone tell me how to resolve this issue?

    Thank you for posting that.

I have verified, partially: you can create a Routine, select Link to Windows as a trigger, and select Keep phone unlocked as the action, with a few (manageable) caveats:

    • you must select another condition as well as Link to Windows, such as arriving at a place, being on a particular wifi network, or connecting to a Bluetooth device (ostensibly, your computer might work as the Bluetooth device).
    • the unlock will last for 4 hours.

    To set it up:

    • Navigate to Settings > Modes and Routines
    • Select the Routines tab at the bottom of the screen
    • Add a routine (plus sign)
    • If... select Link to Windows under Connected Devices
    • Then... select "Lock screen and AOD". Under there you will find the option to keep your phone unlocked. It will be greyed out if you've followed my steps so far. Tap the grayed out option to see the conditions.

I'll leave the directions at that, since they're likely to change, and this gets you past the tricky parts of setting up the Routine.

I said "partially" above because although I've set up the routine, I haven't tested it with Link to Windows yet.

If you do, let us know how it goes!

I temporarily have a dumb phone so I can't test this out myself but I was told that it is possible to set an automation command(in your samsung phone) whenever your computer connects through phone link to your phone so that it automatically unlocks your phone.

PS: Sorry, in advance if it doesn't work.

On the phone, Settings > Security and Privacy > More security settings > Device admin apps (or, easier, search for "Device admin apps"). Turn on "Link to Windows".

That said, it didn't work for me - Phone Link still prompts me to unlock my phone if I try to run an app.

How do you Enable Phone Link as an Admin App?
