New issue with unlocking my Samsung phone via phone link app on PC

I've been using the "Phone Link" app on my computer and mobile and this has let me mirror my phone on my computer and enabled me to unlock the phone screen from my PC. However I'm no longer able to unlock from the PC and it is showing the following message: "Unlock on your phone. To keep your credential private and secure, we need you to unlock your phone to continue." Can anyone tell me how to resolve this issue?

I hope someone who can fix this madness is paying attention to this thread. Supposedly for security reasons they're now requiring you to manually unlock your phone, but instead people are creating routines to automatically unlock their phones instead. This means anyone who has your phone can unlock it simply by getting near enough to your computer. It would be a lot more secure if it just went back to the way it was before, where you could unlock by typing your code on the computer.

A real world version of this would be security requiring that all keys be kept in a lock box, so someone hangs up a sign by the door advising people to leave the door unlocked and propped open.

Hi, Thankyou. The message shows on mine now.

    My version uninstalled to 1.22083.75.0

    Can't uninstall more.....no option to

    I've Windows11

Go to https://phone-link.en.uptodown.com/windows/versions and install 1.22102.202.0

Keep a copy of the install file on your PC in case you have to revert to this older version again.

    Hello again,

Tried the routine suggestion. Didn't work....Didn't do anything.

Last night Samsung released an OneUI update and bang PhoneLink fails to show the lockscreen on my PC!.....AGAIN!

Uninstalling the app to the factory version no longer worked. Neither does updating Phone Link from the Samsung store.

Does Phone Link display a message that you need to unlock your phone or does it show a black screen? In my case after updating my phone, Phone Link shows a black screen but after I blindly type in my phone password on the PC followed by Enter I am able to use Phone Link as before without touching my phone.

For reference: I am using an older version of Phone Link (1.22102.202.0) on Windows 10 in combination with OneUI 5.1, Android 13 and the latest version of Phone Link on my S21 phone. Using the older version of Phone Link on Windows seems to be the key, so thanks to everyone who suggested this.

As I shared before I have a disability, type with a headpointer and cannot use Touchscreens. Phone Link was the only way I could access my phone...now totally useless!

    Very frustrating.
