Displays mix of number and contact names. Used to display Names only. It's free, so I guess I get what I pay for?

    A couple of follow ups.

    * One of the issues seems to be contacts that don't have a "full name" assigned on its contact card.

    * You can remove duplicate entries by exporting the contacts to disk, deleting the contacts within Outlook, and reimporting them from disk with the "do not import duplicates" option. This is in MS's advice database.

    * You can remove categories from multiple contacts by selecting them, right click categorize, and selecting Clear all. There is also a way to remove a category from the entire database from a settings page in this manner.

    * I have deleted the sync'd contact folder on the PC several times and it is recreated without incident.

    * My own name is listed several times in the contact database. It isn't recognized in PhoneLink when I send a text to myself. I guess I have to fix that.

Hopefully, that helps some people. The issue we all experience is with PhoneLink's sync function, it seems and finding the correct structure of the contact database to help.

I wish the contact categories when displayed on PhoneLink were not so hard to find. I find it very cumbersome for a large group of contacts.

This is what I see in my Outlook. The "Wayne's Ga..." is made by PhoneLink. At one point I had 8-10 of these. I deleted them all, but not the Contact folder. These are called "folders" by my Outlook. I have numerous other folders, not shown, for contacts associated with my various employment and activities that I no longer need to use frequently.

I'm afraid this is a bit of the deaf signing to the deaf, so to speak. Whatever PhoneLink's problem is, I don't think it is a short between our headphones, either.

Yep, you can select 10 at a time, but not all of the contacts are deletable - the delete icon at the right stays dimmed out if you happen to select an undeletable one. Randomly some cannot be deleted. Even if selecting 10 at a time, it would take a full day to delete them all...

I also couldn't delete the category. I had to delete the 1000 extra contacts one by one, or I think you can choose 10 at a time? I don't recall.
