Displays mix of number and contact names. Used to display Names only. It's free, so I guess I get what I pay for?

Ok, just substitute Outlook with whatever app holds your contacts list to which you sync. I guess you use a hardwire or wireless to connect to the PC. So do the same like you might if you had BT.

BTW, I think the Outlook contact field that syncs with my phone is the "mobile number" field. My point before was to use the same field so that Phone Link looks in the correct place in whatever contact manager you are using. Interestingly, I think Phone Link needs an intermediary to access your phone. So could the problem be that the intermediary isn't kosher in Microsoft's ecosystem?

    Have fun.

Thanks for the suggestions but I literally don't use Outlook for anything - let alone my phone's contacts. So no sync issues there.

My phone is connected to my PC through the app, I don't use BT.

What I find most annoying, is that everything WAS working - absolutely fine, but now it's not.

There was a Phone Link update in the Store today but the issue still remains unfortunately.

All the advice on this thread is a bit redundant. But look below for the details if needed.

    • I'd say that you need to wait a period of time (TBD) for the app to sync with Outlook contacts.
    • Disconnect your phone from your PC. That means breaking your bluetooth connection at least.
    • Add the phone again to your bluetooth device list. don't reuse the old one if it is still there.
    • Then watch the numbers get replaced during the sync. I found that this is a slower process than I imagined. Be patient.

I have done this general thing a couple of times over the last year and I really haven't had trouble since the last time (6 months ago? ).

I also recall that some of the names in my Outlook contact list had numbers but not in the "wrong" place. Moving the numbers to the correct field, the field that matched the numbers that sync'd correctly, fixed the problem. That was a long time ago, though.

Yep... I spoke too soon. All my phone's contacts are numbers only again.

Has to be a bug in the app, right?

I was able to fix this on my computer by following these steps:

    1. In the Phone Link app on PC, go to Settings, click the My Devices tab, and use the ellipsis (...) menu on your device to remove it, then close the app.
    2. On your phone (mine is an Android), go to Settings, Apps, Link to Windows, Open, then remove your PC from the Linked Computers section.
    3. Restart your phone.
    4. Re-link the phone and PC by restarting the Phone Link app on your PC and following the step to add your device.
    5. Perhaps this is the critical thing, but I noticed in the Link to Windows app on Android, there is a toggle to "Sync contacts" under the list of Linked Computers, which was disabled for me. Turn this on.

Contacts are showing up again for me now - yay!

Stop with this ****. I tried this at least 10 times.. It is OK for a few days... but after that phone companion only start showing numbers.. after a few days it "repair" itself just for a few days...
