2023-04-17T22:30:12+00:00 Pretty much what mine does, copied below from my previous post, i am hoping to find a way to completely solve the issue obviously. It must be a bug in the software for the G9's as this has not happened on others so far for what i can find.
I tried to uninstall the ICPS from the device manager but after a restart and a windows update check, Inel Corporation - Extension - 2.1123.110.4 tries to download and install, then ICPS reinstalls in the Device manager and after that Both Inet Corporation - Extension - 2.1123.110.4 & Intel Corporation - SoftwareComponent - 2.1123.110.4 show up again for download / install but i find now they error out and don't actually download or ask for a restart.

2023-04-14T17:56:54+00:00 Hi all,
We are zBook Power G9 owner (multiple units) and we had only one user experiencing this problem. Resetting the windows update cache corrected the problem.
We used a powershell script to do so:
Write-Host 'Stopping all necessary services' Get-Service -Name wuauserv,bits,cryptsvc,msiserver | Stop-Service Write-Host 'Removing all qmgr.dat files' Remove-Item -Path "$env:ALLUSERSPROFILE\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\qmgr*.dat" Write-Host 'Backing up Windows Update cache folders' Rename-Item -Path "$env:SYSTEMROOT\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore" -NewName 'DataStore.bak' Rename-Item -Path "$env:SYSTEMROOT\SoftwareDistribution\Download" -NewName 'Download.bak' Rename-Item -Path "$env:SYSTEMROOT\System32\catroot2" -NewName 'catroot2.bak' Write-Host 'Resetting BITS and Windows Update services security descriptors' $null = Start-Process -FilePath 'sc.exe' -ArgumentList 'sdset bits D:(A;;CCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRRC;;;SY)(A;;CCDCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRSDRCWDWO;;;BA)(A;;CCLCSWLOCRRC;;;AU)(A;;CCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRRC;;;PU)' $null = Start-Process -FilePath 'sc.exe' -ArgumentList 'sdset wuauserv D:(A;;CCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRRC;;;SY)(A;;CCDCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRSDRCWDWO;;;BA)(A;;CCLCSWLOCRRC;;;AU)(A;;CCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRRC;;;PU)' Write-Host 'Re-registering all requisite DLLs' $dlls = @( 'atl.dll' 'urlmon.dll' 'mshtml.dll' 'shdocvw.dll' 'browseui.dll' 'jscript.dll' 'vbscript.dll' 'scrrun.dll' 'msxml.dll' 'msxml3.dll' 'msxml6.dll' 'actxprxy.dll' 'softpub.dll' 'wintrust.dll' 'dssenh.dll' 'rsaenh.dll' 'gpkcsp.dll' 'sccbase.dll' 'slbcsp.dll' 'cryptdlg.dll' 'oleaut32.dll' 'ole32.dll' 'shell32.dll' 'initpki.dll' 'wuapi.dll' 'wuaueng.dll' 'wuaueng1.dll' 'wucltui.dll' 'wups.dll' 'wups2.dll' 'wuweb.dll' 'qmgr.dll' 'qmgrprxy.dll' 'wucltux.dll' 'muweb.dll' 'wuwebv.dll' ) foreach ($dll in $dlls) { regsvr32.exe "$env:SYSTEMROOT\System32\$dll" /s } Write-Host 'Removing WSUS registry values' @('AccountDomainSid','PingID','SusClientId','SusClientIDValidation') | ForEach-Object { Remove-ItemProperty -Path "HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate" -Name $_ -ErrorAction Ignore } ## Resets computer group membership Write-Host 'Resetting WSUS client cookie..,' $null = wuauclt.exe /resetauthorization Write-Host 'Starting all necessary services' Get-Service -Name wuauserv,bits,cryptsvc | Start-Service Write-Host 'Initiating update cycle' (New-Object -ComObject Microsoft.Update.AutoUpdate).DetectNow() Write-Host 'Windows Update reset complete.'Now if we could only find a way to make them stop overheating withouth disabling the TurboBoost in BIOS...
Good luck!

2023-04-01T06:18:36+00:00 Hi
I have had the same issue Since January. I had it go away for a while after downloading and reinstalling Windows from HP. It has come back in last week though and I now have the same symptom on another computer. Both of these are G9 laptops. It seems this issue has only been showing up on G9 models.
I have put it down to Intel connectivity Performance Suite (ICPS). If you go to Device Manager > View and click Unhide, this will show up under the Software Component section. There is information on how to fully uninstall the drivers and software on the intel site, however the drivers do not show up on the log for either computer and i do not have the software installed. if I try to install the software it says I do not have the hardware.
In event manager after this i get an error message saying something like directory could not be found.
