My new crucial mx500 does not show on bios so I cant install windows, why?

Bought a new crucial mx500 sata ssd, for my asus x555ld, to make it a litle faster, but it does not show up on bios, it does show on list part, and if I boot from usb drive, I can see it as an option to install windows, but then it says it does not have a driver, any ideas?

I think there may be a problem with that SSD or the connection to that drive.

Hi Bruno,

Honestly, if unlugging and re-connecting that drive caused it to disappear, that does indicate a problem, it would be best to replace that new SSD, it is probably faulty, they will replace it under warranty.

But my HDD works just fine there, and the ssd has been connect to my friends desktop without problems

Hi Bruno,

In BIOS, is there a setting for SATA Mode and if so, is that set to AHCI or IDE?
