And then with this Microsoft thread, you'll eventually need to click "Subscribe" and then "Unsubscribe" because apparently their software developers weren't smart enough to make two different options for us. I kept trying to figure out how to unsubscribe to this ever-growing thread and there is only a subscribe button. That's what you click on to reach the unsubscribe button. Someone needs to be fired!
Microsoft Authenticator is asking me to authenticate using Microsoft Authenticator to use Microsoft Authenticator
So first of all... Why is "microsoft Authenticator" not an option in the "Products" dropdown when choosing where this post should go? I'm just going to choose "Windows"... Sorry not sorry.
Also, I can't take a screenshot on the microsoft Authenticator app without it capturing a black image (thanks,) so here is an extremely low resolution webcam picture of my phone screen.
When I click "Passwords" section on the microsoft authenticator app, I see a button that says "Sign In".
So, I click the button, to sign in. Then, it asks me to authenticate using microsoft authenticator, but I am not signed in, and this is a "sensitive" page, so I have to enter the code displayed into microsoft authenticator, BUT I AM ON MICROSOFT AUTHENTICATOR ALREADY!!! Who designed this terrible app??? Cheap labor resources then you expect us to prefer microsoft edge over Chrome? LOL
Also, when I search my own question in "Bing", it doesn't come up, even if I type the title word for word. Does it go through some sort of not-mentioned approval process before my post becomes actually visible to the public, or is Bing just extremely bad at updating its search results in a timely manner?

You're entering an old thread where the original poster never properly chose an answer to his own question, so you're simply seeing the results of early attempts to help him find a fix. If you'd have bothered to read the posts, you'd have seen that in my third post, I correctly guessed the solution for those who are expected to use these forums, which are the typically consumer users of a Microsoft Personal account.
Unfortunately, many of those in this thread are in entirely the wrong forum, since any using the Azure - Work or School accounts that are often mentioned or inferred should have instead posted in the Microsoft Learn - Q&A forums instead, which is why the solutions I provided from my first post are typically regarding settings that exist in the Microsoft Personal accounts which these Community forums are designed to support.
You can have your own opinion, but if these people had actually gone to the correct forums in the first place, they'd likely have found a solution much more quickly and the only people I will try to aid here are those who belong here, which virtually none of the solutions provided actually do.
Again, to be clear, if you have a Work or School account with an administrator, you're in the wrong place. It's that simple.

2024-04-20T15:48:04+00:00 I had this issue on my phone just now and this was the most helpful reply I've read. I got a new phone and it needed me to use authenticator so I could sign into teams, but when I tried to sign into the newly downloaded authenticator app, that's when the loop started. Going back to the Microsoft sign in settings and deleting authenticator as a sign in procedure fixed it. I was able to then sign into authenticator on my new device. - Thanks for the help. I hope that my reply gets people who may be having this issue to try this.

2024-05-01T21:11:22+00:00 I have this exact same problem. My phone for some reason uninstalled the Authenticator app. I also have a tablet however in Authenticator it says that the one account needs to reconnect. When I go to reconnect it asks me to verify using Authenticator which I can't possibly do because my phone doesn't have the connection after uninstalling authenticator so I have no way get out of the loop. Even if I attempt to go to the aka.ms/mfasetup which ends up logging me into my university using a different 2FA it eventually leads to Microsoft Authenticator wanting me to authenticate using Microsoft Authenticator..

2024-05-09T13:16:57+00:00 I'm having the exact same problem. I'm sure the person responding to this reply will blame me for this problem somehow.
