Microsoft Authenticator is asking me to authenticate using Microsoft Authenticator to use Microsoft Authenticator

So first of all... Why is "microsoft Authenticator" not an option in the "Products" dropdown when choosing where this post should go? I'm just going to choose "Windows"... Sorry not sorry.

Also, I can't take a screenshot on the microsoft Authenticator app without it capturing a black image (thanks,) so here is an extremely low resolution webcam picture of my phone screen.

When I click "Passwords" section on the microsoft authenticator app, I see a button that says "Sign In".

So, I click the button, to sign in. Then, it asks me to authenticate using microsoft authenticator, but I am not signed in, and this is a "sensitive" page, so I have to enter the code displayed into microsoft authenticator, BUT I AM ON MICROSOFT AUTHENTICATOR ALREADY!!! Who designed this terrible app??? Cheap labor resources then you expect us to prefer microsoft edge over Chrome? LOL

Also, when I search my own question in "Bing", it doesn't come up, even if I type the title word for word. Does it go through some sort of not-mentioned approval process before my post becomes actually visible to the public, or is Bing just extremely bad at updating its search results in a timely manner?

Thanks Emilio! As I interpret it, you solved it then, and I am happy for that!

    Dear Mark,

Thanks alot for your response. Actually the main problem is that I am the adminstrator and there is no other adminstrator, so your approach will note solve my issue.

    Thanks again,

OK, this is how to solve this problem, but you should know I'm not a tech guy or anything I'm just some business dummy who had to figure this out for our team and I got lucky.

    1. You're going to need the help of whoever your admin is.
    2. Tell them to go to the setup page for Multi-Factor Authentication. For me, the URL is this: https://account.activedirectory.windowsazure.com/UserManagement/MultifactorVerification.aspx
    3. Find the user that's having the problem and click on their name.
    4. In "Quick Steps" on the right, click "Manage user settings"
    5. In the popup window that comes up, check the box that says "Require selected users to provide contact methods again"
    6. Click Save
    7. The user will have to go through the process of setting up Microsoft Authenticator again, but this gets you out of the death loop.

    Dumbest. Problem. Ever.

    Love,

    Mark

So when the Admins are locked out and cannot remove the 2FA, then what? It is not simple at all, and for the last five days, Microsoft support has been unable to fix it. I just want my data back at this point, and I will gladly move to another provider.

    sfry77,

You're in the wrong forums, these are Community forums for consumers with personal accounts and manned by volunteers, so there's no aid available for business concerns or accounts of any sort.

The Microsoft Learn - Q&A forums are where you need to ask these questions.
