I use Windows 11 and this morning I got some notifications that I needed to download some RealTek extensions but they are not working, The three are:

Realtek - Extension - 9.21.3690.427

Install error - 0x80070103

Realtek - Extension - 9.21.3690.427

Install error - 0x80070103

Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Extension - 6.0.9366.1

Install error - 0x80070103

Anyone know why this is happening and if the update it legit or not?

Months have passed and MS still haven't fixed this, although it's nothing to worry about. If you go to Update History and click on the Drivers section, you should see that they are already installed (for me it was Realtek 1.0.0.200 and Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Extension - 6.0.9496.1) which was showing as installed yet are still detected available updates, hence the errors.

Double check to see if the same version numbers are installed on your PC and if they are, you can safely ignore these errors.

EDIT: Just seen GrahamC123s reply and this is how to fix it.

    1. Run windows update troubleshooter
    2. Wait until it says problems detected
    3. Go to windows update and click pause updates for one week
    4. Close and re-open windows update settings
    5. Click Resume updates and it should get rid of the already installed updates from the list
