Windows 11 Browse For Folder Dialog Issue - Only Desktop

In several programs, when I need to set a folder location for example, and open the Browse Dialog, I'm only shown the Desktop folder. I can't access any folder outside of "Desktop". It doesn't make a difference to run the programs as admin.

Thank you for mentioning this. Been struggling for months with this issue ever since I upgraded to Windows 11 and my Onedrive doesn't sync Desktop... Hopefully this will get fixed soon!

I have the issue solved but it will require you fresh install. This is what I done. I downloaded the Windows Media Creation tool and let it create a new installation application of windows on a USB stick. This installation installed Edition Windows 11 Pro, Version 22H2, installed on 2/26/2023, OS build 22621.1344, Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22639.1000.0.
The previous 22H2 installation must have been a different build. The problem is solved, and I can open up any application I have that required selecting a folder anywhere in windows. They should be done with the development portion.

2023-03-12T14:54:05+00:00 22621.1344 is the preview build for the March 2023 update. I see this in the details -
"This update addresses an issue that affects which folders appear in the Browse for Folder picker."
So not sure a reinstall is required. If someone wants to try the March 2023 preview update (KB5022913), based on the patch notes and what you are seeing, I'd say this is fixed and will be released Tuesday to general population.

2023-03-12T15:02:29+00:00 Yeah, if you are not into reinstalling, I would definitely recommend trying the update instead. The fact is, I had to fix another problem and benefitted from this new update as well. It installed as one build it this case.
