Windows update 10/12/2022 broke my PC totally!

I noticed last night before I went to bed that I had the option to update and restart my PC which meant there was something in Windows that needed an update. Ok...sure. I selected that option, watched the system prepare and download the update, and went to bed.

This morning I go into my office and my PC won't even boot! I initially get to the Windows loading screen....nothing but the spinning dots for 30 minutes. So I hold the power button down, let it reset...same result. I reboot again, try to go into Safe Mode....nothing at all. Black screen. So I thought "Great! I have to reinstall Windows and restore my last system image (which was this Sunday thankfully)." So I get out my Windows USB install stick, set my PC to start from there, get the prompt to install 32 or 64 bit Windows, select 64 bit, get the loading install files message...

Nothing! Doesn't load at all!

I've tried to get into Safe Mode, took out all my RAM and reseated them, only installed 1 stick at a time (out of four I had installed), unplugged and reseated the PSU cables to EVERYTHING...not one single thing is working! I use my computer for work, and right now all I have is a $3500 paperweight! I've now spent HOURS in Google University trying to find the magic bullet that will fix this, and nothing is working!

    The update may simply have been a coincidence to a hardware error

    Never leave the PC once you have instigated an update, wait until it completes before shutting down.

    If a branded PC see that makers support as to how to run diagnostics on boot

    Ok...now I am getting somewhere.  

    It looks like Windows, once again, somehow corrupted my boot drive.  Seems like I go through this a few times a year.  I don't know how it does it since I maintain vigilance on my PC and am always making sure that there are no no-no programs installed or running on it....so Windows is the only constant source of problem.  All my C: drive is used for are storing Word documents and the operating system.  Everything else I keep on other drives.

    But now when I finally get to where I can get something more than a black screen and actually make it to the Windows repair utilities, every single option tells me that my issue can't be diagnosed, can't find a system restore point, or can't find a system image....all of which I maintain daily! And when I go into the Windows Installer and select the drive, it tells me that I can't install on that drive because it is MBR and not GPT, but when I delete it and try to reformat the drive, it still won't format it. But now when I try to install after I rebooted, I get two things happening when trying to launch into the Windows install USB:

    1. When I use Legacy, I start up, get the 32/64 bit choice option, the Windows logo, then a black screen forever.
      -or-
    2. When I use UEFI, I start up, get the 32/64 bit choice option, get the motherboard logo splash momentarily, and then spinning dots forever.....

    Windows is very quickly beginning to earn my ire...

    I'm having the same issue. Did the windows update last night and now my PC won't load windows.

    Well, that sounds far worse than what happened to me.

    After update on 11th, (12th for me), black screen with a little white dialogue box in upper left part of screen saying Internet Explorer wasn't responding.

    Nothing was working, except for some reason, I was able to CTRL/ALT/DELETE and pull up Task Manager, (weird).

    I kept rebooting to log in screen and logging in, but only got the "BLACK SCREEN AND ERROR MESSAGE TOP LEFT".

    So I was getting upset that the dreaded update scenario had finally befallen me. Then I remembered to power cycle 3 times to get to the recovery screen.

    Didn't work at first, had to do at least 3 full power cycles of 3 cycles before that pretty blue recovery screen with options under advanced came up!.

    So I quickly did a restore point back to the 7th. Worked like a charm, got to desktop and everything was awesome, so I paused updates till I could figure out

    what was going on. 3 Hours later I tried same updates and had no problem, (weird?).

    Now another issue has arisen, chiefly Microsoft Edge. I download it, save it, then open it up, .....nothing!. Did this like 3 full times before it would even begin

    to install. OK, got it installed right?, ... Nothing when I open it, just nothing, lol.

    Don't understand why Edge isn't Compatible with this 1809 Enterprise LTSC\ 2019 Server\ Windows 10 RS5,....LOL.

    Update; 10-15-22,

    Got Edge working fine, a command line tutorial fix worked for me, ...everything is just zipping along fine now.
