Good point, and you are correct. Guilty confession -- for several versions of Windows I've been using an add-on that (among other things) allows the user to specify which interface is presented when running the File Manager. It's called StartAllBack and frankly I wouldn't run Windows without it. I happen to be very comfortable with (no kidding) the Windows 7 start menu and other related UI features. Costs all of $5 and is worth so much more.
In Windows 11 file explorer navigation pane, how do I move Quick Access pins back to the top of the list?
When I updated my machine to Windows 11, the quick access items were moved beneath OneDrive in the File Explorer navigation pane. This is a big inconvenience since I always have my OneDrive folder expanded and can no longer scroll to the top to access my pinned folders. How do I get the pinned Quick Access items back to the top of the navigation pane where I can – ironically – access them quickly?

Nope. It is not. My Show All Folders is off. There is still, apparently, no way to move the quick access folder to be ABOVE the idiotic HOME and GALLERY and One Drive folder.
Even Worse. The Date of this post is December 2024. I just got a new computer and Windows 11 for the first time, and the options in this video don't match the ones I have.
Stupid, stupid, stupid!!!! I can't believe Microsoft did this and won't let us change it. I am so annoyed.

2025-01-15T02:55:58+00:00 Unfortunately Startallback sucks. Yes, it works but their system is down. I got it downloaded and installed and got a license and got it activated. All is Ok right? Wrong. They never sent me an email with my license key. It just appeared in another Chrome tab. I have hundreds of these just as you do and keep the emails in a special folder. But no email. There is a system on their website to get another email. Hit that 3 times and still no email. Went to support to contact them and got that message composed and then they have the weirdest Capcha I have ever seen. I guess you have to assemble a picture out of tiles. Took me 3 tries to figure that out and then sent in my request for an email please. But their system requires that you answer an email they send to verify your email before the message to support will be entered. Again no email. So they are in sad shape trying to keep their system run properly.
