When I updated my machine to Windows 11, the quick access items were moved beneath OneDrive in the File Explorer navigation pane. This is a big inconvenience since I always have my OneDrive folder expanded and can no longer scroll to the top to access my pinned folders. How do I get the pinned Quick Access items back to the top of the navigation pane where I can – ironically – access them quickly?

You can remove these by editing your going to your registry editor:

Hi, I have the same issue after updating to windows 11 today. Depending on the amount of quick access folders you want I found a work around.
Open each of your desired quick access folders in a separate tab so you don't lose them. Then unpin all of them from quick access and re-pin them back in the desired order from the tabs you have open.
Its not perfect but if you don't have too many folders it works.
Please MS put the drag and drop functionality back!
Your Drag and Drop does not work in Windows 11. If you try to move file that is already pinned, into a different location it tries to copy the file into a different folder. Same with [CTRL]+drag. It tries to copy the file. I cannot seem to find how to rearrange folder within the quick access/home folder.
Just got a new PC with Win11 pre-installed. And ran into the infamous "can't move Quick Access to the top" issue, causing me to find this lovely post. Yikes, MS, almost a year with no response. <sigh> Guess I'll be checking out 3rd party options like others have... sad that they ruined it. And agree with the 'MacOS' comments. If I wanted MacOS, I would have bought an Apple laptop. 🤦🏽♀️ Basic User Experience = Ruined.
Since I also didn't care for the Windows 11 version of File Explorer, I started looking for alternatives and settled on One Commander. The UI looks fairly clean and the navigation pane allows for custom grouping and selective hiding of each group.
The only caveat to be aware of is opening pictures. The Windows Photos app only lets you navigate with the arrow keys on images opened with File Explorer. Luckily, there's quite a few photo manager alternatives. The one I've been using is IrfanView.
With any luck, some developer will take this into consideration for Windows 12 as I simply haven't been happy with Windows 11 overall.
