In Windows 11 file explorer navigation pane, how do I move Quick Access pins back to the top of the list?

When I updated my machine to Windows 11, the quick access items were moved beneath OneDrive in the File Explorer navigation pane. This is a big inconvenience since I always have my OneDrive folder expanded and can no longer scroll to the top to access my pinned folders. How do I get the pinned Quick Access items back to the top of the navigation pane where I can – ironically – access them quickly?

    Following PaulParsons original note, let's regroup.

    DaDance Thank you for comment. However spacing on explorer is off topic. We are still looking for a way to get quick access up to the top.

    We probably need to get smarter. For instance, what is the rationale for the "Home" folder AND why would a "Home" take precedence over "Quick Access"? What could be the objective?

    Let's say Microsoft has an unknown idea that we're missing. If so, they might be able to maintain their idea and resolve this by including the pinning function (quick access) to the Home folder. Then whatever obscure idea for the Home folder would be achieved AND we'd get quick access shortcuts in the top folder.

    Heyyyyy, now that I think of it, I've not tried to put shortcuts into Home. Has anyone who still has 11 installed tried this?

    Jumping out on this thread, I followed exactly that as you said and I managed to have the Quick Access back under the home (formerly quick access) icon, exactly as your screenshot. And as you said, it's not expanded by default, and would love an update on that if you find a fix.

    Things that are still a problem in my opinion :

    • The divider is just a clutter and impossible to remove, or move wherever you like.
    • The space between items (and their size) has increased in such a way that, when opening explorer, you can no longer see all the way down, without a full screen window, or scrolling down. Another idiotic thing, very easy to customize if the option was there.
    • The one drive is still on top of this silly divider, as opposed to beeing with the other cloud services where it belongs.

    I'v used that as a quick fix, until hopefully an official fix, or windows 12.... Where hopefully they'll bring the legacy start menu back, but that's another topic...

    One of most frustrating thing after update to W11. I can not to get used to this.. it is sooo anoying!
    Hope MS will do somethning with this soon. It will be best update If they just allow us to move pinned folders up..

    Ah, I'm sorry, I should have read this thread more closely.

    I was having that different problem. A clean-install which I was going to do anyway seems to have fixed it.
