Quick Access not showing in navigation pane since Windows 11 update

I updated my PC to W11 a few days back because I can't afford to have my IT security compromised. It took me the best part of a day to get the BIOS setup to allow the update, along with the several hours long install. That's a day of productivity down the tubes.

I haven't seen a single 'gain' from the update so far, though in itself that doesn't bother me. If all the gains are in the background, no problem. On the other hand, I've needed to go hunting on the web to get back some of the easy access interface things I had with W10, especially quick access. Hence (thankfully) ending up here. This is more productivity hours down the drain.

At some point I'll probably try to find a way to see all my apps with one click rather that two, and how to get rid of features that I doubt I'll ever want. Microsoft team, please explain why I should value the menu recommending that I consider opening Picture Manager, just because I've used it a few times recently. This is like the apprentice asking the mechanic if s/he'd like the flat-bladed screwdriver, just because they used it for something yesterday. You are taking up screen space with nonsense - just stop.

I too am fed up of this windows 11 as after buying this new laptop,am finding it very difficult as firstly the MS online helper messed up my settings,now everything he has put in a new folder of my name made and also things are not quite easy to use as in the case of earlier windows like windows 7.I get this message-The Desktop folder contains other important folders and isn't supported for file backup when ever I go to do the settings and there is no way to see the option change location either to be seen if I want to put the say for example any picture folder in its default place.I think all my apps are in the Desktop and neither the One Drive now working properly and numerous files of same name are to be seen in my File explorer.Dont know how to go about getting it right.

Any rational answer from MS or just a useless Thank You - just as ironic as Thoughts and Prayers.

I clicked to pin paths to quick access, but it does not show up in favorites and all of my old quick access items are missing... incredibly frustrated with this pointless change.

I completely agree as I used my Quick Access multiple times a day. As an actually busy professional who has to multi task I have to jump between folders all day. I also have my File Explorer open all day and very rarely close it because I have to use it so frequently.

It really feels like the MS Developers didn't take into consideration anyone actually using the progam in a professional setting.

I have not had much I really like about Windows 11 the best I can say for it is it is better than Windows 8 and thats about it. I have spend the last 2 days after being required to move to Windows 11 by my employer Googling how to fix what was changed or find what I use to have.

This is really helping me know I will most likely not upgrade my personal computers to Windows 11 and will stick with Windows 10.
