Quick Access not showing in navigation pane since Windows 11 update

I updated to the latest version of Windows 11 yesterday. When I opened File Explorer, Quick access and recent files/folders were showing to the right of the window, but the Quick Access folder option was missing from the navigation panel on the left. So if I click away from this Window I've lost Quick Access. How do I re-enable Quick Access to the left part of the navigation pane?

Please look at the screenshot before replying. Quick Access is enabled in view mode options and can be seen, but is missing from the left side of the navigation pane.

    I updated my PC to W11 a few days back because I can't afford to have my IT security compromised. It took me the best part of a day to get the BIOS setup to allow the update, along with the several hours long install. That's a day of productivity down the tubes.

    I haven't seen a single 'gain' from the update so far, though in itself that doesn't bother me. If all the gains are in the background, no problem. On the other hand, I've needed to go hunting on the web to get back some of the easy access interface things I had with W10, especially quick access. Hence (thankfully) ending up here. This is more productivity hours down the drain.

    At some point I'll probably try to find a way to see all my apps with one click rather that two, and how to get rid of features that I doubt I'll ever want. Microsoft team, please explain why I should value the menu recommending that I consider opening Picture Manager, just because I've used it a few times recently. This is like the apprentice asking the mechanic if s/he'd like the flat-bladed screwdriver, just because they used it for something yesterday. You are taking up screen space with nonsense - just stop.

    Possibly. I also noticed you have to click in the blank area. If anything is highlighted underneath when you right click you will get a different menu.

    this display is not shown. I right click on This PC, and get:

    Collapse

    Open in New Tab

    Open in New Window

    Add a Network Location

    Map network drive

    disconnect network drive

    Pin to Quick Access

    Pin to Start

    Properties

    Show More Options, which only adds:

    Manage

    Delete

    Rename

    Properties

    Open File Explorer and click on Home.

    In the right-hand window you will see three sections:

    1. Quick Access contains all the folders that have been pinned to quick access. The most recently viewed folders are also there.

    2. Favourites contains all the files that have have been pinned to Quick Access (Microsoft have changed the name to Favourites).

    3. Recent self-evidently, contains all the most recently viewed files.

    That's it.
