Hi - I just was able to turn off S mode on my new laptop. I went to file explorer and typed regedit in the bar, it prompted me to go to a site and I was able to turn off S mode. It is off now and I am able to install apps not from the store. Choose where to get apps now appears in Apps > Advanced App Settings and it is set to Anywhere!!
Windows 11 Apps and Features missing from the menu
I have search for this menu to enable an upload that is not a verified MS app. I need to change the settings but everywhere I search, I cannot find it.
So frustrating that I can't download any apps to run.

2022-12-09T03:27:44+00:00 Open the Microsoft Store.
Find the App called "Switch out of S mode"
Install the app.
S mode will be removed but you can then install any app/program.

2022-10-18T13:23:33+00:00 Hi there, I am having the same problem. I did what you suggested but there isn't a "SettingsPageVisibility" to right click on. Are there any other options? I really need to figure this out because I want to download the EA app and my computer will not let me because it's not from Microsoft. Help!!! Please and thank you!!

It's so frustrating I've wasted hours going round in circles.
Please help.

2022-11-19T22:22:48+00:00 One has to edit the REGISTRY(!) in order to download non-Microsoft "verified" apps? Has MS not yet learned what happens when it practices monopolistic behavior? (Oh, and BTW, regedit itself is not a Microsoft "verified" app. Jeez!)
