can't pin images and documents folder to Quick access in file explorer

Hi, i just uninstall Onedrive from pc and suddenly i can´t Pin Images and Documents folder to quick access, It give me the option but when you click don´t happen anything. Any solution???

Hi Maria,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Your Quick Access folder is probably corrupt, the best option is to delete the content of Quick Access, and then re-pin the folders you need there.

Click your Start Button, then just type cmd and on the resulting menu, right click Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'

Paste this command into Command Prompt and press Enter:

del /F /Q %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\*

Paste this command into Command Prompt and press Enter:

del /F /Q %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations\*

Paste this command into Command Prompt and press Enter:

del /F /Q %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\CustomDestinations\*

Then, close Command Prompt and restart (not shut down) your PC.

    Thankyou so much DaveM121.

    I have lived with not being able to pin items to quick access ever since I decided to use Onedrive to backup my documents folder. It has really hit my workflow as I use this a lot.

    Your instructions were perfectly described and the solution works. How do i buy you a coffee/beer?

    Nothing happens. Mine Quick Access Pinned folder also is lost/doesn't show. I can't even pin new folders as nothing happens. What I am doing wrong? I also disabled Cortana and MS Drive too. But I don't think it cause this problem.

    I used MS Ultimate Windows Tweaker and Winaero Tweaker. Maybe I have missed something to enable?

    WORKED but sure wish folks would write responses with "newbies" in mind.

    Since I am a newbie with windows 11, I found it's MUCH easier to just type command prompt into the search bar (at the bottom immediately next to the start button or 4 blue squares). Sorry but after using Windows 8.1, I'm still getting used to a start button again.

    Immediately the command prompt opens and gave me the option to click on "Run as Administrator".

    I copied and pasted your first command, then clicked on "Enter".

    Another command prompt opened and I did the same on each of your commands.

    When you said to just close the command prompt screen, I was POSITIVE this would screw up somehow as it seemed too easy...but VIOLA, it sure worked.

    Thanks because as many of us know, when it comes to tech stuff, things often go sideways before straightening out.

    I'll try this when I get home, but I wanted to note that I also think this is an issue when disconnecting from OneDrive. I just set up a brand new computer, upgraded to Windows11, but disconnected OneDrive. The Quick Access bar had everything pinned except Documents and I couldn't add it.
