Could not update to 22h2 due to 0x800701b1 and 0xC1900101 error. Then I managed to update and boot fails, 0xc0000098 errror. What do I do?

Let's try deleting the erroneous boot entries which are pointing to a non-existent device.

The statutory warning applies! Before modifying the boot configuration, please backup your system image (the OS and boot partitions) to an external hard drive using Macrium Reflect Free edition.

From Admin Command Prompt, run:

  • bcdedit /export c:\boot_config_backup.bcd
  • bcdedit /delete {9649d88d-4b28-11ed-8001-6d7368757261}
  • bcdedit /delete {4069d4e4-2920-11ed-be4c-a85e45d0a878}

Then, run these commands and post the output here:

  • bcdedit /enum All
  • bcdedit /enum All -v

    Seems you have some problems with your SSD. If has one faulty sector already (see 05 attribute), and setupdiag says: Failure while adding the boot entry.

    Please check the drive with Samsung Magician tool. And please change B: disk letter to another one. A and B letters were reserved for a floppy disks historically, so some side effects are possible when you assign this letter to a hard drive.

    Hi mate,

    Samsung Magician scan signals no issue with the drive.

    Also I tried completely removing my former AV (I had already uninstalled it months ago.)
    Now if I try to install 22H2 I get another error code: 0xC1900101 https://easyupload.io/m631h8
