Could not update to 22h2 due to 0x800701b1 and 0xC1900101 error. Then I managed to update and boot fails, 0xc0000098 errror. What do I do?

If I try to install the update after a while pc restarts and restores old version

Let's try deleting the erroneous boot entries which are pointing to a non-existent device.

The statutory warning applies! Before modifying the boot configuration, please backup your system image (the OS and boot partitions) to an external hard drive using Macrium Reflect Free edition.

From Admin Command Prompt, run:

  • bcdedit /export c:\boot_config_backup.bcd
  • bcdedit /delete {9649d88d-4b28-11ed-8001-6d7368757261}
  • bcdedit /delete {4069d4e4-2920-11ed-be4c-a85e45d0a878}

Then, run these commands and post the output here:

  • bcdedit /enum All
  • bcdedit /enum All -v

    I tried again after unplugging all USB devices and I get again the 0800701b1 error. The installation goes further though, after reboot it manages to get to 30%

    Some driver prevent this upgrade. Try recommendations for 0xC1900101-0x20017 error in https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/...

    "Ensure that all that drivers are updated.Open the Setuperr.log and Setupact.log files in the %windir%\Panther directory, and then locate the problem drivers.For more information, see Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 setup log file locations.Update or uninstall the problem drivers."

    Could not find those file in windir/panther :(

    Also I tried clean boot installation but to no avail
