Why don't I have the app and features in settings?

I have actually solved it! yes little old me!!!!

So go to your download folder where the app is and right click, go to properties.

Under 'General' go to the bottom where it says Security and click on the 'unblock' button, then apply and ok.

Continue through any pop ups and bobs your uncle you're in!!! <3<3 this was also driving me utterly bonkers as to why i couldn't download adobe illustrator!!!!!!!

I found out some more info! The newer computers automatically set you up in S mode..some form of safer searching mode. That's great except I need to run other applications. Once you go in and change out of S mode then you can download other things.

You cannot change back into S mode though so you decide. :)

My settings doesn't have something that says "choose where to get apps"

This only opened up the "Apps" window which does not contain "Apps & Features" or "Change where I get my apps from".

i just found out how to do it, you have to Switch out of "s mode" this is in the Microsoft store settings. or this can pop up if you right click the file, go to properties and under general click unblock.
