I keep getting notification that I have an update to install, but when I try to install the update, I get this error message:

What is going on? Nothing seems to work.

I managed to solve mine..

Do you have a HP printer installed?

Uninstall the HP printer and do a window update.. Its gone..

Dunno whats wrong with the HP driver.

Same it only hide one but still showing one more..

Tried using the tool to hide the updates but it only hid one of the two updates. There was no way of removing the remaining update. I tried so many different methods ranging from editing the registry, stopping the update services and renaming files but whatever I tried didn't work. In the end I tried system restore which caused other problems, followed by a repair install which caused another set of problems. In the end, I had to do a wipe and clean reinstall. Nightmare.

Thanks for that final bit of information. I used the tool Paloma recommended, it's signed by Microsoft, and kept seeing the problematic update. If I hadn't seen your final solution I'd still be pulling out the non-existent hair on my bald head. lol
