No option to open Device and Printers in control panel in Windows 11 22h2

In previous versions of windows 11 and windows 10, I was able to access the devices and printers options from control panel instead of settings. Now the devices and printers from control panel opens the settings, which lack some options, especially the option to turn on or off handsfree telephony for Bluetooth devices. Is there anyway to access this option in windows 11 22h2?

Hi there,

In Windows 11 22H2 and higher, the old Devices and Printers interface can still be accessed by running the following command from the Run dialog.

  • shell:::{A8A91A66-3A7D-4424-8D24-04E180695C7A}

Optionally, you can add "Devices and Printers (Classic)" to the Control Panel.

Download devices-and-printers-classic-cpl.reg and apply the REG file.

You'll see the following option in the Control Panel.

    Go to new "Settings" -> "Bluetooth & devices" -> "Printers & scanners" -> "Choose 'Fax' or any of hardware printer" -> "More devices and printers settings"

    Some of the "software" doesn't have this option (Microsoft Print to PDF, Microsoft XPS Document Writer, etc)

    This answer is incredibly helpful, really easy to implement, and gives you back the old interface exactly as before. Absolutely baffling why MS decided to remove this - if you can reinstate it just by creating a shortcut, it can't be saving any system resources. Thanks very much anyway, I know this post is pretty old, but I'm grateful. Cheers.

    Sometimes people make things very complicated when they shouldnt be. I scoured the internet and forgot the link I saw the answer at but remembered enough to try it again.

    Here are the steps in its simplicity.

    1.      

    1. Select the Bluetooth Icon from the tray bar
    2. Right click and you can select either show bluetooth devices or you can select open settings
    3. Scroll down to more devices and printer settings and select it
    4. Once selected, the windows shows teh classic version of the hardware and printers view
