Windows 11 - Snipping Tool issue with multiple monitors with different Scale Settings

On Windows 11, if you have multiple monitors with different scale settings and resolutions, the snipping tool doesn't work properly. What happens is the smallest monitor's resolution determines what portion of the other monitors can be snipped. For example, I have three monitors on my Surface Laptop 4, the primary is 2496 x 1664 and is set to 150%. The second is 1920 x 1080 and at 100%. Third is 3440 x 1440 at 100%. When I hit print screen, it only greys out a portion of the first and third monitor. And the second isn't even greyed out at all. I've determined that if I put the all the monitors at the same scale, say 100%, the snipping tool works fine. It's only when one of them is different that the snipping tool doesn't work. Also, it doesn't matter if it's three monitors. This happens to me when I have only two monitors connected. I'm just using my current setup as an example.

This has been a problem since Windows 11 was released.

I might have found a quick fix to this issue. I just 'repair' and 'reset' my 'Snipping Tool', and now it can screenshot the entire screen correctly.

Apps>Installed Apps>Snipping Tool

Under Reset, Use the 'Reset" and 'Repair'.

    Has the problem been fixed by now? Because I am still experiencing these problems. Having to keep adjusting my monitor settings simply because the snippint tool doesn't work properly is unbearable.

    I just found this page - I've been losing my mind for the past couple of months. I saw the trick about scaling the laptop to 100% (to match my other two monitors) but it makes the text unbearably small. I use this feature many times a day, I really hope this gets fixed soon.

    Hi everyone, It is now July 2023 and this problem still persists.

    My colleagues heavily rely on this application, do we know anything about when this will be fixed?

    I have tried scaling all monitors to the same ratio as suggested by other users here with some success, but this has unfortunately introduced a new problem for one of my co-workers; scaling all monitors to the same ratio AND opening the Snipping Tool completely disables all hardware mice input, including laptop mouse/trackpad.

    The only way to fix the mouse lockup issue is to shut down the machine and reboot it. Restarting the machine from the Windows Start menu does not fix the mouse input problem, nor does ending the Snipping Tool service/program with Task Manager. Shutting down the machine completely is the only way...
