Windows 11 reboots itself - Annoying!

What if I don't want the damn update? I did get a windows update on my PC, and it completely trashed it. Programs ran terrible. I'm glad my PC doesn't have this issue, but if I ever got a new one and was forced to use the pile of garbage windows 11, I'd be so upset. I was trying to do something on my family members computer, and it just did that. It's ok if it was optional, but not updating something should be by choice. If I wanna run my PC till it breaks without it shutting off, then that's what I wanna do. It can be helpful, but adding the option to never is absurd. Having to always postpone updates in settings is annoying. If I don't want a update, then I don't want one. It's simple. I don't get it. I don't get how people defend it. What's next, gonna take away the option for me to get a virus if I want one? It's stupid. Give use the freedom we want.

It's the first time I have to write something here but unfortunately I have encounter same annoying error. Few week ago I've build a new PC my self. All the components are compatible becuase I have done proper research before and I was so happy about it until I've installed Windows 11.. I bought new license for Pro edition and now I know it's wasted money becuase of random restarts. My case is even worst becuase it does not happen only 1x daily at night but randomly every few minutes even during the normal usage. I can surf on the web for some time without the issue when next day PC restarts after 15 minutes. Funny thing is that even when I have unchecked in system properties "don't restart after failure" it's still does.. It pissed me of especially after I paid so much money for NVME PCI Gen 5 drive and if the drive become corrupted or damaged becuase of this **** software errors I will be seriously angry. I have literally done everything to stop this non sense, replaced PSU as other mentioned but nope.. It wasn't a problem of power. I have fixed all the group policies, registry dozen of time, I did countless of sfc /scans with DISM online repair which helped for few days, and then after I have installed some new software it just came back(...) it seems that Win 11 try to spy and control us so much that when you install some software that does not allow that the problems start to happen.

Now I don't see any other option like purchase again new license for Windows 10 and install this one because I have never had problems with previous on any of my PC's. What a shame

I frequently experience this 'mandatory reboot' event at work - mid-task, middle of a programming session, in a meeting or presentation, it doesn't matter; Windows simply decides: "It's reboot time!" - without notification, warning or my permission - screen goes dark, VPN disconnected, meeting disconnected, open documents to recovery mode, presence lost. Active in a work presentation? "Nope! Don't care, it's reboot time!!"

What an arrogant attitude to your users.

Windows has not been this bad since Vista - remember that POS? The primary aim of Vista was to actively prevent you from operating your system, with 'security' confirmation pop-ups at every stage, state, action or thought. Anyone remember Internet popups and how annoying those were? Take that multiplied by a hundred and then some.

As an IT professional with decades of experience, I can manage my computers all by my self, like a grown up who doesn't need IT baby-sitting.

Microsoft, wake up!! Your products are a tool to be used, optional tools at that. Your approach, while well intended I'm sure, is not required in this case.

Exact same thing here. The PC I purchased came with ver 11 and it has done this since I purchased it.

All these comments and still NO update or resolution from Microsoft.

We have limited it to if you open 3 or more applications as same time it will trigger the restart with the stupid power issues.

I went into Best Buy last week they will not even offer anything but Ver11 on a pc anymore.

so, what is the solution or workaround after all?
