Windows 11 reboots itself - Annoying!

Hi All,

I have windows 11 installed on "HP ZBook Studio 15.6 inch G8 Mobile Workstation PC".

Windows ver: 21H2 (OS Build 22000.1098)

It reboots itself during the night every day more than once though I only lock the computer. Before I used to hibernate/lock the computer to start where I left off my open programs. There are days when I reboot every 2 or 3 weeks because I never needed to reboot but now it does it every night.

It started doing this after the recent update.

Note: The power settings were working fine as it is still the same. But it reboots for no reason.

    I got a message "Window cannot find "gpedit.msc", so couldn't even get past the first step.

    In my case, it just keeps rebooting and in "Security and maintenance" I can see the right after my PC, WHILE RENDERING MY 3D PROJECT WAS INSTALLED SOME SHI "Installation Successful: Windows successfully installed the following update: Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Version 1.407.391.0) - Current Channel (Broad)"

    It has happened almost every day for the last month, I tried to fix this problem so many times.

    Maybe I should just downgrade till windows 10(((((

    What an absolute joke! Here we are 2 years later and MS still hasn't stopped automatically restarting our computers in the middle of the night!

    YOU SUCK MICROSOFT! YOU OBVIOUSLY COULDN'T CARE LESS ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS BECAUSE WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO USE YOUR PRODUCT! I HATE YOU!

    Solved It!

    With an additional modification I've been able to make it so that Windows will download updates, but it doesn't install them or restart the computer until I tell it to do so. Finally I can leave my work running overnight!

    Combining the original instructions from Henning Idsøe as well as the instructions found here, I did these steps:

    1. Win+r
    2. gpedit.msc
    3. Edit Computer Configuration->Administrative Templates->Windows Components->Windows Update->Manage end user experience->Configure Automatic Updates
    4. Set it to Enabled and 3 - Auto download and notify for install
    5. Edit Computer Configuration->Administrative Templates->Windows Components->Windows Update->Legacy Policies->No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates installations
    6. Set it to Enabled
    7. Restart the computer (I don't know if this is required, but I did it)
