Windows 11 reboots itself - Annoying!

Hi All,

I have windows 11 installed on "HP ZBook Studio 15.6 inch G8 Mobile Workstation PC".

Windows ver: 21H2 (OS Build 22000.1098)

It reboots itself during the night every day more than once though I only lock the computer. Before I used to hibernate/lock the computer to start where I left off my open programs. There are days when I reboot every 2 or 3 weeks because I never needed to reboot but now it does it every night.

It started doing this after the recent update.

Note: The power settings were working fine as it is still the same. But it reboots for no reason.

    I've done everything you wrote, and on the second night the pc restarted..

    Maybe im missing something? Anything else besides what you wrote here? I haven't done anything written in the other post or in the links you provided

    all I did was:

    Edit Computer Configuration->Administrative Templates->Windows Components->Windows Update->Manage end user experience->Configure Automatic Updates

    1. Set it to Enabled and 3 - Auto download and notify for install
    2. Edit Computer Configuration->Administrative Templates->Windows Components->Windows Update->Legacy Policies->No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates installations
    3. Set it to Enabled
      Should I also do what Henning Idsøe wrote, or anything else?

    I initially did what Henning Idsøe posted, but I found that didn't work for me. With further investigation I came up with the steps I posted and it started working for me.

    My steps modify the same setting that Henning Idsøe posted, so I don't think that step was necessary. I wish I had a better answer for you.

    Just to report back. It's been 3 months since I posted my instructions and it's still working for me. It does not restart on me automatically.

    can anyone confirm this is working?

    I was able to complete the steps, but now I have to wait and see if any future updates come through that would normally cause a restart.
