Event 2545 "Microsoft-Windows-DeviceManagement-Enterprise-Diagnostics-Provider"

In the early Windows 10, there were issues with Windows Updates. There is a tool called MSERT(a Microsoft tool) that reviews and looks for updates that may be missing. It might be worth a try.....

Your link for the MSERT (*** see the note below) is pointing to the 64-bit Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT, also known as the MRT). As far as I know this tool scans for malware but doesn't look for missing Windows updates. Are you suggesting that these Event ID 2545 errors could have been caused by a malware infection?

The MSRT is included by default on Win 10 Home and Pro home consumer computers, and if you are using Windows Update to patch your computer it should download the latest set of Microsoft virus definitions every Patch Tuesday on the second Tuesday of each month (go to Settings | Update & Security | Windows Update | View Update History and look under "Other Updates" - I currently have definition set v5.114) and automatically scan your system for a small number of known types of malware that are currently prevalent. My Monthly MSRT scans have never detected an infections on my Win 10 Pro v22H2 computer (the scan log at C:\Windows\debug\mrt.txt can be opened with Notepad or any other text editor) but I'm still seeing these Event ID 2545 errors logged on a daily basis at Applications and Services Logs | Microsoft | Windows | DeviceManagement-Enterprise-Diagnostics-Provider | Admin. Windows Update reports my Win 10 Pro v22H2 OS is fully patched and the free Belarc Advisor utility does not detect any missing security updates.

*** Note: the Microsoft Safety Scanner (MSERT) is a standalone malware scanner that almost identical to the built-in MSRT but it must be installed manually and receives virus definition updates more frequently than the MSRT - see the 11-Jan-2023 thread What is the Difference Between MRT and MSERT? for more information.

There are dependencies on updates. A great example is KB5027219 which has a dependency on KB5023788 for Windows Server 2016 which equivocates to an older version of Windows that has made its way through the update cycles. When I ran the Malicious tool, it apparently found an issue (this one) and it gave the update the access to the earlier version. When the 788 ran, the 219 was able to run because the former is dependent upon the latter.

It could be a rabbit hole but my 2545 issue has been resolved and this approach was the only one I took. My updates were misbehaving; I tried SFC /Scannow and DISM and the extreme of removing the SoftwareDistribution folder and without any result. It didn't occur to me the problem might be a missing udpate. Running the tools pushed the previous KB.

Worth a try. Another way to approach it is to look up dependencies and make sure none is missed. Seems to work for me. The MDM issues have resolved.

I ran the Malicious Tool removal, both the Quik scan and lengthy full scan, and nothing was found (malware wise), and no updates were suggested or identified as missing (if indeed the program looks for them). Still have a daily 2545 Event error recorded, but as Aditya.U wrote in an earlier reply, there doesn't cause any problems with my computer. and is just logged daily in my Event Viewer error log.

So, I gave it a try, but no help

I am having same issues, which are these "tools" you tried that reverted back to previous kb?
